I walk into the address given to me and walk towards the noise in the house. I walk into a living room/kitchen area and small conversations are broken out between everyone, but everyone's focus is on the TV mounted on the wall.

I transferred here at the end of my last season since I finished my time at a Junior College. I was nervous to meet my teammates this morning but they welcomed me like I had been here all along. They told me they were having a throwback at the house later so they asked me to come. They also mentioned that some of the softball team would be there too, so I'm not surprised to find girls at the house.

"Hatcher! The man of the hour," I walk up to my teammate Brooks and slap hands with him.

"What's happening here?" I ask him, finally focusing my attention to the TV. A game of Call Of Duty is displayed on the TV. The screen is split for two players to play, both seeming to be demolishing everyone. You see them lock onto each other, the right side of the screen claiming victory.

"Bitch," I hear a male voice murmur from the couch.

"They're playing a match. People put money on it so they're waiting to see where their bets end up," Brooks responds.

"Did you put money on it?"

"No man, I'm not stupid. But if I did put some on it, I would put it on baby May,"

"You have a girlfriend?" I turn to him.

"Hell no man. I'm gay," He casually says, sipping on the beer in his hand.

"Damn, I didn't know that about you,"

"It doesn't change how you feel about me right?" He turns to me, a concerned look covering his face.

"Nah man. My younger sister is gay too. I'm basically her wingman. Ever need one, you know where to find me," I wink at him and he slaps my back. "So which screen is, you said her name was Mary?"

"May, but she's the right side of the screen," He points to that the right side, when she kills yet another person.

"May.." I whisper to myself. I engage into the game, my eyes flicking back and forth between the sides. "Who is she playing against?" I turn my attention back to Brooks.

"Lukas, and he's undefeated in matches. No one has ever beat him,"

"So why do you think May will win?"

"Because I play with her sometimes and she sweeps everyone every time." I turn back and focus on the last couple minutes of the game, my eyes favoring May's side opposed to Lukas'. Brooks was right about her skills. She's not one that camps in places, instead running around to find her targets. She's only died three times since watching her. She must have a lot of free time.

The clocks runs down and the match ends, Lukas' team claiming victory. The split screen disappears, displaying the "play of the game" across the TV. May's POV appears on the screen to no one's surprise. She sprays one, two- six dudes within a ten second interval, the last kill going in slow motion, showing her jumping from a ledge and killing the person below her. Even when the screen starts to fade, she's moved onto another target. The screen loads onto a different one, displaying the stats from the game.

"Check the ratio!" A female voice shouts from the right of me.

May's ratio is 6.83 with 41 kills and 6 deaths. Holy shit. Lukas has 39 kills and 7 deaths, falling just behind May with a 5.57 ratio.

"No fucking way," Lukas says, dropping his controller on the couch and walking closer to the TV in disbelief.

"Pay up assholes," The girl sitting next to him stands up and starts walking around, collecting money from the people who bet on Lukas. Now that I can see her face clearly, I recognize her from early.

What is my luck?

The girl I pulled up next to on my way here is the one collecting money right now. I had to stop and get gas before coming here, so I didn't see where she ended up going after we left the intersection. She caught my eye at the red light, but now in the light she's just even more stunning. She starts counting the money in her hands, a proud smirk on her face.

"I knew you could do it May! I believed in you! Lukas you suck!" Brooks shouts from next to me, cupping his face to appear louder. Lukas flicks him off, still studying the TV. I turn my attention back to May as she blows a kiss at Brooks. He raises his beer at her in response. Her eyes shift to me, locking onto mine. She stares at me, recognition crossing her features. She scans me up and down once before tucking the money into the pocket of her sweatshirt and sitting back down on the couch. I release a breath I didn't realize I was holding, but my eyes don't leave her, even as she turns from me.

"Go find a seat man. We're gonna be here for sometime. I'd hate for your feet to hurt for tomorrow's practice." Brooks states.

"Good looks man. I'll come find you later," I round the L-shaped couch and spot my current roommate, Dante Winters, sitting on the part of the couch May isn't.

"Jace! Nice of you to finally join us," I walk over and slap his hand. He moves over to make room for me and I gladly take the seat next to him. I adjust the hat on my head and flip it backwards in order to see above the rim. My eyes instinctively shift in the direction that May is sitting, quickly finding her gaze already on me. I relax against the couch and my legs slide forward, but I don't break eye contact. She looks away as her attention gets pulled to the blonde that replaced Lukas' spot.

"Luke baby, come lay back down," A brunette sitting on the floor holds her arms out and Lukas falls into her lap, hugging the girl around the waist, his legs sprawled out behind him. I look back to May, can't seeming to look away from her. She has her phone out now, pointing it towards Lukas. She taps the phone twice and throws her arm up, fake flexing, throwing her bottom lip between her teeth and nodding to a nonexistent beat. She shows the blonde next to her the video, and they both laugh. No doubt that's going to Snapchat.

"Someone got your attention already?" Dante says in a soft voice, allowing only me to hear.

"Damn, am I being that obvious already?" I ask turning to look at him.

"A little bit. But I feel you, my eyes are set on the blonde sitting next to the girl that just stole my money," He nods in their direction.

"Well I'm looking at the girl that stole your money," He looks at me knowingly and nods.

"Yeah, she catches a lot of guy's attention on the team. Some have been brave enough to ask her out or approach her at a party but no one has been successful. Not sure if she's gay or just finds all of us ugly," I nod, wanting that to be the last thing I hear. That deflates my confidence slightly. I was thinking about approaching her tonight but maybe I'll put that off for another time.

Someone starts up a new game and I use that as a way to distract myself from her. I don't even know a single thing about her and I can't seem to take my eyes off her. She is truly beautiful, you can't take that away from her. And clearly other guys think so too. Maybe I'll catch her attention over everyone else. I just hope that after tonight, I'll see her again.
