Chapter 26: Going Insane

"I promise" I say, crossing my fingers behind my back. I had no intention of coming back that early.

"Good girl" His lips graze mine, then he walks off to our room.

I run to him and jump onto his back piggy-back style and wrap my arms tightly around his neck.

"I love you" I say with a smile.

"I love you too, Liv" he replies. He spins me around, then sets me down.

"Bye!" I run off to my friends.

"You're here!" Sonya greets me.

"We didn't think Gally would let you" Aris rolls his eyes.

"I know he can be overprotective but-" I try to defend Gally. Unfortunately, Aris and Gally don't get on very well.

"Let's not focus on that. We need to carry out our plan, and we're already strapped for time because Harriet is taking her sweet, sweet time to arrive" Sonya rolls her eyes.

"I'm here! I'm here!" Harriet runs up to us.

"Took you long enough" Minho huffs.

"Be grateful I decided to turn up" Harriet retorts.

"Guys!" I interrupt. "Come on!"

"Does Gally know about this?" Sonya asks, to which I reply with a simple shake of my head.

"No, and he can't" I say firmly. "If he found out..." I trail off.

"It's ok. We understand" Harriet says, smiling, placing a reassuring hand on my shoulder.

"Hey, angel" I wake up to Gally's voice.

"Hey" I say, my voice giving away that I'm still practically asleep. I rub my eyes and sit up.

"You can go back to sleep if you want" Gally offers.

"Thanks" I snuggle into his lap and fall asleep very quickly.

"I should have stayed with Gally!" I yell, as we run down the corridor.

"You knew it wouldn't be a good idea!" Aris yells.

"Well if someone did their job right, we wouldn't be in this situation!" Sonya glares at Minho.

"Hey! My hair was messed up! I needed to sort it out!" Minho tries to defend himself.

"If you didn't give a fuck about how you looked FOR ONCE, and just kept watch like we told you, then everything would have gone according to plan!" Harriet hisses.

"How the hell was I supposed to know my actions would have consequences?!" Minho exclaims.

"Guys stop fucking arguing! We have bigger priorities right now like NOT GETTING KILLED!" I shout.

"You're right. Say sorry, guys" Minho says.

"YOU NEED TO SAY SORRY TOO!" Aris retorts.

I'm never going to disobey Gally again. I hope this is just one, giant nightmare, and I'll wake up in Gally's arms. He'll tell me it's ok, and he'll comfort me until I feel better.

But that's not going to happen.

This is very real, and there's definitely no chance I'll be able to hug Gally again. Not after what we just did. Not after we-

"Liv! I'm here! Talk to me! Darling, please talk to me!" Gally shakes me awake.

"Gally!" I wrap my arms tightly around his neck and sob into his shoulder. "I'll never disobey you again. I promise. I'll go to bed when you do, and I won't sneak off to find the truth about this place with my friends. I promise! I love you so much!" I ramble, so grateful for him to be here with me.
