Chapter 26: Going Insane

"Angel, what are you talking about? Truth about this place? Sneaking off? Disobeying me?" He rubs my shoulder, trying to calm me down from the hysterics I was in.

"You- you told me to come to bed with you. I begged you to let me stay out longer. You let me have an hour and a half. But I met up with my friends and we did something we're not supposed to. We were running from the people. They were gonna kill us or- or worse and-"

"I'm confused. I never said you had an hour and a half or-"

"What? No! No, you did! Wait, where the hell are we?!"

I climb off Gally and see we're in the Pit. What? I was just at a massive facility, running with my friends. So, how am I here? Is this a dream? Or is the facility a dream? What's real, and what's fake? Am I going insane? Can I tell what's real and what's fake anymore? Can I even tell the difference between reality and dreams? What the actual shuck is happening?

Gally's Pov

"SOMEONE GET THEIR ASS TO THE PIT RIGHT NOW!" I yell, desperate to get some help for Olivia. I look at her, and she's muttering to herself, looking really worried. "SOMEONE! HELP! IT'S OLIVIA!"

Soon, Ella's head appears at the doors.

"Ella!" I breathe a sigh of relief. "I need you to do something for me, and it's really important, ok?"

Ella nods in response.

"Good girl. I need you to run as quick as you can, and bring me Alby, Newt, Clint and Jeff. Tell them it's about Olivia, and it's urgent. Can you do that?"

"Yes" She sprints off.

I look at Olivia and see she's now rocking herself in her arms, not blinking, her muttering becoming meaningless sounds and ramble now.

I sit next to her and try to pull her into a comforting embrace, but she instantly recoils from me.

I study her petrified face as she stares at me. Her head starts repeatedly shaking, and there's something in her eyes that I've never seen before. Madness, maybe? It looks as if she's lost complete control, as if she doesn't know what the shuck is going on, as if she doesn't even know who I am.

Newt's worried face appears.

"What's wrong?" he asks.

"Get her out! Please!" I beg.

Newt looks at Alby, who gives a nod, signalling Newt can open the doors the the Pit. Alby also allows me to get out.

"You've got some explaining to do" Alby crosses his arms.

I tell them everything I knew, from when she woke up then went back to sleep, to the whispers, the crazed look in her eye, and anything else I thought could be important.

"Why do you need all of us here?" Newt asks.

"Alby because he's the Leader and should have the overall decision, Newt because he's one of her closest friends, and Clint and Jeff because they might have something to calm her down" I explain.

"What has she been saying?" Clint questions me.

"I- I- I don't know. By the time I tried to listen it was just... just meaningless rabble. She wasn't even forming words!" I mentally scold myself for not listening to her sooner. If I had, we might know what the hell is going on with her.

Third Person's Pov

Gally watched, helplessly, as Clint and Jeff tried to calm his girlfriend down. No matter what anybody tried, including him, it wouldn't work. She would recoil from anybody who tried to go near her, and seemed to block out any sound. If someone tried to embrace her, despite her doing her best to fight it, she would start screaming and shouting, begging them to let go of her.
