Percy worked diligently in everything that Mr. Stark asked him to do, which was mostly just weeks of paperwork he'd been putting off. For a show boat like Stark, he was mostly elusive when he wasn't at lunch with that soldier friend of his. Percy had observed him, and it seemed like he spent most of his time in his workshop. He'd only been in there a couple of times since he started working for Stark, but it was like a whole other world.

A dozen variations of the same suit with a few key differences lines the walls. Several pairs of glasses were skewed across a main work table, along with a variety of small tools. Sketches and blueprints were littered on the floor, some were crumpled on the ground, and others were pinned to the walls.

Percy scanned the room for what Stark had sent him to fetch, some specific drawing of a suit labelled "SMS Mark 4". He found it relatively quickly, but decided to keep snooping. After digging around for a bit, he notice something interesting. There was a small plaque in one corner of the room where a glass trophy case sat. The case was only held one thing, an oddly shaped mechanic device with a plate that read Proof that Tony Stark has a Heart. It looked like the battery that powered the Iron Man suits.

There were a few things on top of the case too. There was a letter, a flip phone, and a photo of a young boy who looked to be a couple years older than Percy was, kind of reminded him of Beckendorf. He began to read the letter when he heard someone open the door. He scrambled to put everything back to where it was, but it was too late.

"What's taking so long, kid? We have a guest that you were supposed to welco--." He looked at Percy, realizing what he had done. "That's my stuff, Jackson. Don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong."

"No, of course. I was curious, I guess." Percy defended himself.

"Ya, well, curiosity killed the assistant."

"I know you don't want me to snoop, but who is this?" He pointed at the picture of the man.

Tony's scowl visibly softened when he saw the image. He padded over to his assistant and picked up the photo, sighing to himself.

"That would be Charlie Spencer. I didn't know him, but I did meet his mother. He was a real bright kid, chose to spend his summer building affordable housing in Sokovia, where we killed him." Tony explained, refusing to make eye contact.

Percy was slowly beginning to understand Stark better, bit by bit. He knew that Tony had been hit pretty hard by the news that Bucky Barnes had killed his parents, and even worse, that Steve Rodgers didn't tell him. Percy hoped that Tony at least trusted him, or would eventually.

"Anyways," Stark tried to change the tone of the conversation, "I need those blueprints. I have someone for you to meet." Tony ushered him into the main entrance.

   "Cryptic." Percy snarked.

"I learned from the best." Tony won the banter, leading his assistant into the conference room.

There was a long table in the center of a spacious room, glass paneled walls surrounding them. Only one person sat at the table, though. It was a teenage boy with scrappy brown hair and dark eyes. He was anxiously tapping his foot, waiting for Stark to arrive, unaware of his presence because of the music in his ears. He was wearing some nerdy graphic t-shirt and dirty, worn out shoes.

Out of the blue, Tony flicked a pen at him, which surprised Percy, but what surprised him even more was that the boy caught it. His head whipped around, and his hand snatched it out of the air before it could hit him. He pulled the earbuds out sheepishly and waved.
