The day after Brooklyn was such an amazing day. Betty and Jughead really found their way to make a good team. They didn't go out for a lunch, they ordered in since they didn't want to leave the office. Betty was actually little sad when time was up and the day was over. Jughead looked like he thought the same. But once they walked out of office, their work mood was gone and they stepped into their other world. It was the weirder one.

The whole evening Betty thought about the facts Jughead asked from her. She was gonna do it. Otherwise he'll win. She didn't know what but she knew that this has to go on like this or it'll change things more. Or are they changing anyway and it didn't matter what she'd do? Just before she was ready to close her eyes and fell asleep, she sent the text. It was little stupid, but let's try, she thought.

Betty:
1. I'm the only one who knows your childhood good, bad and embarreshing stories
2. I know your darkness and secrets
3. I'm the only person you have really loved
4. I'm the one you wanna show your humor and tell your stupid jokes
5. You have missed me too

Jughead saw the text when he woke up in the middle of night and his sleep. He red that and laughed out loud. He had to answer right away, at morning he needed his work mood and it was nothing like this mood. Their texts.

Jughead: You couldn't figure out your owns? I thought you are good at writing..

And on Thursday at the office they were again a perfect team talking about the case. It was like an unspoken rule. It was all about the work and that they did good. Today they made time for lunch with Carla and Joel too, who were already joking about the fact how Betty was abandoning her routines and they had missed two lunches already in this week.

"Five pm today you'll finished your work, promise?" Joel made everyone promise but he was looking more towards Betty and Jughead. Nodding. It was their usual Thursday and it always ended at five. Then they go to Joel's place, someone get the bottle of wine and after that it's pub time. "Whos turn to buy wine?" Carla asked and before Betty could raise her hand, Jughead told he was buying. "It was my turn today.." Betty mumbled. Jughead didn't know that but it was lucky coincidence, it was always a pleasure mess a little with her. "Next time then," he grinned.

After work they all walked to Joel's who lived just few blocks far from their office. Jughead stopped by the store to buy a red wine and some snacks. Snacks were his thing, he needed those. And no one complained.

Joel and Carla had stayed quiet all this week about Betty's past and it was a big achievement for those two. But it was enough for this and they were ready to hear more. An obviously they had spoke to each others about their guesses and storylines. It took only first sip of his wine and Joel was ready to take a road to the past.

"So. You have tortuted us too many days. We need your story now," Joel winked at Betty. Shit. They hadn't talked about this with Jughead, what they'll tell. Jughead looked at Betty, trying to ask on his eyes the same thing. What is the story? Jughead nodded to Betty, she can do the talking. He will correct if there is something.

"Short version. We have known each other our whole life, we dated few years in high school, broke up when we left to college. We were friends at first, but it didn't last. We have common friends like Kevin, Fangs, Veronica and Cheryl but we haven't seen each others for years, haven't talked or didn't know anything what was the other one up to," Betty blurted like she always did when she was nervous. Her cheeks were burning, she didn't feel good. It ached to think about their past.

"Yeah, I knew it, we need also Jughead's version," Carla rolled her eyes and looked at Jughead.

"I don't know what to add. But like you have seen, Betty is not my biggest fan and I'm not hers," Jughead said.

"I have to disagree. You look very good together. But now is question time. Think about it like a practice before pub quiz," Joel smirked. "You guys are unbelivable. I'm sorry Jughead, there is no privacy here with them," Betty huffed. "It's okay, we can handle them," Jughead grinned. Here we go.

"You really haven't talk at all?"

"We have texted once in a while. It more like bullying or hating or something like that, nothing interesting," Betty answered and felt how mad she became. She remembered all the texts. Not the recent ones. The old ones. Full of hate, disgust and anger.

"Why all the hate?"

"It started after one voicemail I guess and kept going," Jughead replied to that one.

"Why did you broke up?"

Betty stood up and walked to balcony. She though she could handle this, but she couldn't. It was all her fault. Soon she felt arms wrapped around her, Joel. He was like a brother to her. "If it were his doings, you wouldn't have led him join with us, you would have showed your feelings more. So how did you little angel mess it up?" he asked with calm voice which made Betty feel better already.

"It was just a kiss with my best friend. His best friend. It meant nothing but it blew up everything. There was no anger then, we didn't spoke about it, there was only silence," Betty whispered and looked to the city above them.

"And he was the love of your life, still is maybe?" he asked. Betty hummed her answer.

They walked inside the apartment and soon after headed to pub. It was all about easier topics now. Everyone understood that it was time to take a break and talk about something else.

"So that was all the fuzz, those ten questions which were, for my opinion, quite easy for journalists?" Jughead laughed. "Don't ever questioned the quiz night! It's more about everything else. But it is always nice to feel good about yourself by answering the questions," Carla shouted. "And winners will get the price - free beers. It's usually our team of course," Betty cleared.

"I see. So are you two pleased for this evening and the answers you got from us?" Jughead was ready to get on the horse again. He really wanted to see how Betty will bare it. And what can he get out of her answers. They all looked at Betty who was in the better place now, after that glass of wine and two beers. She smiled but the smile, it was little wicked and that shaked Jughead a bit. This girl was so interesting.

"So. Am I the only one who doesn't call you Betts, Jones have a permission now?" Carla asked.

"As much it annoys me, Jughead earned the name back. It was fair game. But Jughead, I'm still waiting for my price for your game," Betty looked at Jughead gaving him a little smirk. What was that?

"I'm not sure if you passed the test. I need time," Jughead grinned.

"You guys realize that there is no hate anymore, you are actually pretty good team?" Joel asked.

"Oh there is, but you don't see that. But one thing is right, we are a good team, when we work together," Betty replied.

Jughead was confused. About the fact these conversations didn't affect Betty at all, she was calm and had her answers right away. He was more of a mess and out of the words. And what even was all the hate they had, where it came? And can they leave something behind them already?

It was getting late and they all agreed to go home. They needed to work tomorrow after all.

"Betts. It's kind of nice to hang with you again. And you have cool friends and cool life. I'm glad we have more than those texts now," Jughead said Betty to his final words before they left to different directions once again. He wasn't sure anymore did he say those words because he wanted to shake Betty or because he really thought that way. Betty was left there mouth open. "Thanks Jug," she manage to say but Jughead didn't hear that.

Jug.
