Chapter 28: He's Gone

"Well, a Runner is one of the most dangerous jobs. I can see why he would be upset" Minho shrugs.

"Yeah. But then he said other things and... Oh god, what if we never make up?" I let out a frustrated sigh.

"What did he-"

"Sh!" Newt elbows Minho in his side, cutting him off.

"I'm gonna go for a walk to clear my head. Bye, guys. See you tomorrow" I head towards the door.

"You mean at dinner?" Minho asks.

I turn around to face them. "Maybe" With that, I walk out.

Third Person's Pov

Olivia walked deep into the forest, wanting to be away from everyone. When she knows there's no chance anyone will stumble across her, she sits on the soft grass, taking a breath of fresh hair.

Despite the argument with Gally ringing in her ears, bringing down her entire mood, she felt relaxed here, at peace.

She listened to the gentle sound of the river that connected to the lake, and the wind rustling the leaves. She listens to the creaking of the branches and the birds tweeting to each other.

The sweet smell of flowers somehow brings her comfort, so she sits up and starts picking a few.

She soon has a bouquet that is bursting with colours; deep blues, electric pink, vibrant yellows, and deep reds. She organised the flowers so no two same colours were touching each other, and was proud of the finished product.

It had distracted her from the problems she was going through right now, and for that she was grateful.

It was getting dark by now, so she headed back to the Glade.

No one had seemed to notice her absence, so she just walks around as normal.

When she can't find anything interesting to do, she goes to her hut, that had now become Ella's, and knocks gently on the door. Ella opens it with a beaming smile.

"Olivia!" Ella wraps the girl that she idolised in a hug. She had missed Olivia since they hadn't hung out in a while, but Ella was determined to change that.

"I got these for you" Olivia smiles as she hands the little girl the bouquet.

"It's amazing! Thank you, Liv!" Ella gives her another hug.

"Shall we go get a vase for them?"

"Yes!"

A/n: Quick question, do you pronounce vase like 'varze' or 'vaice'? Me: 'varze'. It sounds weird otherwise.

The two girls head to the Kitchens to see if Frypan had anything similar to a vase for the bouquet. He gave them a cup big enough to hold the flowers and fills it up with water.

Olivia and Ella go back to the hut and place it on the small table that resides in the corner of the room.

Ella had started to rub her eyes, clearly exhausted, so she clambered into bed and instantly fell into a deep sleep.

Positive the young girl wouldn't mind, Olivia got a sleeping bag and placed it on the floor of the hut and also fell asleep.

"Are you sure she's ready for another memory, especially this certain one?" Thomas asks Ava. "This was extremely traumatising for her. After-"

"Thomas just make her have the memory" Dr. Paige snaps.

With visible reluctance, Thomas does what he's told.
