You sigh as the soft melodies playing out of the radio reach your ears.

I miss listening to music by your side. I miss the way you'd belt out your favorite parts, and how you would make fun of me for doing the same thing.

You quickly shake the thoughts out of your mind.

I'm sure she doesn't spend a day thinking about you anymore. Why should you think about a person who doesn't care about you?

Although your thoughts are over her, your heart sure isn't. You feel the heartache grow stronger with every beat and swell of the song. Suddenly, the chorus plays and you're thrown back into old memories once again.

This was our song. The song we used to sing for hours in my car while driving to no certain destination.

I remember how people would give us weird looks when we'd tell them that our song was a break up song. They'd tell us how it was a bad omen for the future, but we would ignore them because we'd break the curse. Wasn't that how it was supposed to go?

I remember the day you told me you loved me. Our song came on the radio once again, and I sang the song like usual. You, however, were simply mumbling the lyrics while preoccupied with something on your mind. I noticed after the song was over, and I asked you what was wrong. You said that you loved me, and you asked if I felt the same. I did, and then I made you promise me something.  I just didn't know that the promise would end up breaking my heart just like you did.

The day that you kept your promise is a day that haunts my mind for hours on end. It started the same way, with our favorite song on the radio. I sang along, but this time, you didn't even mouth the lyrics. Your eyes, your smile, your attention, and your mind was in another place, living another life. You didn't even look at me when I asked you what was wrong.

"I've fallen out of love with you." That was the fatal sentence to our love. I remember slamming on the brakes as I looked you in the eyes.

"Are you sure?" I regret uttering that sentence after seeing your hurt face. You knew what damage had been done, yet you didn't have the heart to fix it, or even me.

"Yes." You couldn't even look me in the eyes as you confirmed my worst fears. I felt you slipping away, but I thought it was because of your busy schedule.

Oh, how I was so wrong.

A single tear runs down your face as the song ends, and a radio infomercial plays. Only one thought remains in your mind as you try to forget the pain.

I miss you, Dongie, with every breath in my body and every beat of my heart.
