"Oh come on, seriously!?" Steve complained, throwing his controller on the ground and leaning back on the couch. The four sixteen year old boys had been playing video games since school ended. Two hours.
"What's the matter Steve? Died a bit early?" Snot teased.
"Shut up." Steve replied, forcing his body on the couch back.
The boys were playing in the Smiths living room, leaning up against the green couch on the floor. When Steve died he fell back on the couch, turning his attention to Snot. He had always found Snot's face so perfect, so smooth. Well except for those couple bumps that never went away. Snots hair was perfect too. Curls running around his perfectly shaped head, knowing just where and where not to be.
Steve didn't even notice how long he was staring, but Snot certainly did.
"Uh, do you need something?" Snot mumbled to Steve. He had been so focused on Snot he didn't even realize the brunette boy constantly looking back, but only for seconds.
"What? Huh? Oh. No nothing, I was just daydreaming." Daydreaming?? Steve must really have been distracted. He just said he was daydreaming about his best friend. After all he did fantasize about Snot with boobs and in a bikini. Steve was pretty weird.
"Daydreaming about your best friend? Ok then."
"Wait wait I mean- ummm..uh I mean I just got lost in my thoughts.."
"Don't even wanna know what that means." Snot replied, smirking while doing his giggle.
"No! I'm just thinking!"
"Yeah. We covered that."
The awkward silence of only Snot, Toshi, and Barry playing was too much for Steve. Usually Snot and Steve would die first then silently look at each other, enjoying the silence together. Now Steve doesn't like it because it's only him.
Steve let out a loud, long lasting, groan. "Ughhhhh dudes, can you die already??"
"Sorry Steve. Not all of us die right away in games." Barry stated.
"Usually Snot and I die right away and then we both sit in silence!!! Someone give me their controller!!" Steve protested. Ah the life of a bunch of boys. One smooth, even brown haired boy. He was the leader of the nerds, with that he usually wore a bland orange T with an open red top covering over the back and some of the front. He also had baggy blue jeans with his squeaky clean red and white sneakers. All he needed now was his big nerdy glasses to complete a day's fashion. The curly haired boy's appearance was a bit different. He had normally worn a ripped-sleeveless blue vest and a dark-gray T-shirt underneath. With that was Snot's green-ish gray plain short shorts. You could tell he was poor, as well as by his shoes. A gray tinted blue. They used to be bright blue and gray, much like Steve's pair. But like any pair of shoes that are years and years old, the color will fade and then they will all be one ugly color.
Steve often felt sorry for his best friend. Especially when he would invite Snot and his mother for dinner, Snot just seemed mesmerized by everything. From the expensive furniture and TV, down to just a clean carpet. Snots carpet looked something like beer bottles everywhere, garbage, rough like texture, and lots of bugs. It was no wonder Snot hated it when Steve would go to his house. He barely did anyway, seeing how Snot lived just made Steve's stomach turn. Not because of the smell and dirtiness, but because he loved his best friend and hated seeing how horrible his home was. Definitely not a place for a sixteen year old boy to live. The last time Steve went over to Snot's place was the last time they say Santa Claus, two years ago. The place had gotten way worse by now.
"Steve, would you shut up already? Not our fault you died, now you gotta sit there. Plus our game is almost over." Snot added. Steve rolled his eyes, crossed his arms, and scanned around the room, waiting for the game to end.
