Hydra's Hound

Bucky and we're sitting on our sofa watching the tv, earlier this morning Sam had given up Steve's shield to the Smithsonian museum.
I could tell Bucky was mad and hurt, that's all he has left of Steve
I was offended to be frank, Steve trusted Sam with the shield. To be the new Captain America, and I believed he could be a great Cap. But he just threw that away

"This is yours" Sam said handing over the shield
I yawned, and lay my head on Buckys shoulder
"How could he?" Bucky grumbled
"I dont know Buck. It's safe though. Let's just leave it for today" I stretched my back out
"I, am going to bed. Don't stay up too late" I stood up as I lifted his chin gently and pressed a kiss to his furrowed brow
"I'll be in soon as the match is over" he replied as the football began
"Okay, I hope you win" I chuckled as I went to our room

Groggily I pushed open the bedroom door and shuffled to the bed, stripping off my clothes and throwing Buckys shirt over my head and a pair of shorts.
I quickly brushed through my busy hair as I crawled into bed, falling asleep in seconds

I gasped awake when I heard screaming
In fright I ran to the sitting room to see Bucky bolt up off the floor, where he'd been asleep
"Buck" I whispered sadly as I knelt down beside him
He didn't have to say anything, the lion on his face told me all I needed to know, a memory
He panted and I wrapped my arms around his bare body, and rested my head on his shoulder my nose buried into his neck, he always found feeling my breath
He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me to him as he calmed his breathing

"We have the therapy tomorrow handsome" I said softly
"Ughhhh, I hate it" he whined
"Me too" I sighed

Ever since the snap the Government had given the two of us a conditioned pardon. And that includes scheduled therapy
It was a pain in the ass, because we actually have to talk
But I had the handier side, because I was allowed to attend as a hound

"James I asked you a question. Are you still having nightmares?" our therapist, Christian Reyner, asked
My swishing tail faltered for a second as I remembered the night before
"No" Bucky answered her
"We've been doing this long enough that I can tell when you're lying. Well you seem a little off today, did something happen recently?" she said unimpressed
"No" Bucky replied
"You're a civilian now, with both of your history, the government needs to know that neither of you are gonna..." she continued making a punch motion
I squinted my eyes at her, unamused, I didn't fight before Hydra, at least not noticeably, and I only fought with Winter
But Bucky just nodded
"It's a condition of your pardon so tell me about your most recent nightmare" she just kept talking
Honestly, neither of us wanted to be here, i for one especially didn't want to be here. I don't trust new people, never have, and probably never will. So this was just testing my patience
"I didn't have a nightmare" Bucky told her scratching my back.
I looked at him, 'you are a cute liar' I sent him, I could tell he found that touching but his face stayed Stoney

Dr.Reyner sighed and pulled out her pen

"Oh come on, really? You're gonna do the notebook thing? Why, it's passive-aggressive" Bucky asked as she began to write
I just stared at her, and I stopped wagging my tail
"You don't talk, I write" she replied
"Okay, okay" Bucky sighed
"I crossed a name off the list of my amends yesterday" Bucky told her
"Don't worry. She made sure I used all your rules" Bucky said looking at me and I smiled

"Senator Atwood. She was a Hydra pawn for years. Helped her get into office when I was the Winter Soldier. And after Hydra disbanded she continued to abuse the power we gave her" Bucky explained
"So rule number one? You can't do anything illegal?" Reyner asked
"All we did was give some intel to the AID to convict her. And I wasn't involved in anything else" he nodded
She noticed he only said I, which caused her to look at me
"Rule number two?" She asked then
"What was rule number two" Bucky pondered
"Nobody gets hurt, it's a big one" she sassed
"Then why isn't it number one?" Bucky said right back gaining a cold look
"I didn't hurt anyone. I promised" he told her
