Chapter 5

*Tony’s P.O.V.*

Although I didn’t say it then, I knew Stacy was lying to me. My security system is made of the best, most indestructible metals. I don’t know how they did it, but as I walk toward the surveillance room, I’m going to see exactly what that camera caught before it was knocked out. I sit down at the desk, and play the tape for that particular camera. Seems like Stacy was the initiator. She whispers to Rocky and she looks up, eyeing the camera. Then it just goes out. This all makes no sense. Rose sat there peacefully the whole time, and none of them threw anything at it… There has to be more here… some explanation. I go back, and zoom in on the three, watching them all very closely. That’s it! I play it back, zooming completely in on Rocky. My eyes widen as I sees the flash of a reddish-orange color in her eyes, and I scoot back in complete shock. I then stumble out of the chair, wondering what else they were all hiding, and why Fury actually sent them all here. I half-blindly walk back to the pool, eyebrows creased, not really looking at any of them. I was now completely sober.

“R-Rocky… I need to see you, dollface.” I manage to get out, not wanting her to hurt me or feel threatened, so I sweeten my sentence up a bit.

She confusedly stands, and walks over to me. “Yep?” She asks, raising her brows.

I sigh, backing up into the building through the open screen door, and beckon her to come in. “Close that door behind you.” I say, knowing it was soundproof.

She steps in, and closes it, looking up at me with her slightly enlarged hazel eyes. “What?” She asks, quite confused.

I sigh, and decide to see if she’ll tell me on her own. “Something you want to tell me?” I ask, crossing my arms over my chest, looking at her expectantly.

She shakes her head, “No… why?” She says, feigning ignorance and innocence.

I shake my head, disappointed. “JARVIS, holoscreen.” I say, and he sends one my way. I pull up the zoomed in surveillance, and she sees it through the transparent screen. Her face goes pale, and her eyes widen. Well, she’s guilty. “Care to explain?” I ask with my usual nonchalant tone.

She looks at me with pleading eyes, but I stand my ground -no matter how sort of -cute?- I might find it. I need answers. “I’m not supposed to say anything… No one’s supposed to know… Uncle Nick is going to lock me up forever.” She says quite softly. I can tell she’s close to tears, but I really don’t care less.

“I’m not going to tell your Uncle. But as long as you’re living with me, I think I have the right to know who’s living in my house.” I say sternly, crossing my arms.

           *Rocky’s P.O.V.*

As soon as Tony left the pool, we started to lazily use our powers. I was creating steam, Stacy was making crystals, and Rose was moving the water around. I sigh, standing, watching as the girls continue. “I’m gone, guys.” I state, then turn, walking back into toward the house. I see Tony in a daze, and he calls me inside. He questions me for a bit, and I was quite confused as his chocolate eyes accusingly bore into me. I’m terrified as he shows me the video, and I can feel my throat tighten. No, I’m not that girl. I clear my throat, making my gaze blank again. I’m definitely not going to tell about the other girl’s without their permission.

“Okay, I have abilities, and I might have knocked out your security camera...” I say, shrugging, matching his nonchalant tone.

Tony sighs, and places his fingers on the bridge of his nose. “Why?” He asks, closing his eyes.

“I wanted to release some steam… but I didn’t want you to know. That didn’t work out so well...” I say, telling the half truth. He didn’t notice.

“Fine. Just, please, don’t burn anything else.” He says, opening his eyes.

“Okay... I’m sorry.” I say, looking at him, giving an apologetic gaze.

He sighs, waving off my apology, and looking me up and down. “It’s fine.” He says, and then makes his way to the bar. “Want one?” He asks casually, swishing around a bottle of scotch.

I shake my head, and take the scrunchie off my wrist, putting my hair up to stop it from dripping onto the dark, hardwood floor. “Nah, I don’t drink. Plus, I’m only twenty.” I say, shrugging.

“Little Miss Goody Two Shoes, are we?” He asks teasingly, chugging straight from the bottle, setting the glass down.

“Now I really don’t want any.” I say, making a disgusted face as I watch him.

He rolls his eyes, gulping down the liquid, no visible signs of throat burn. “It’s alcohol- sterilizes itself. Plus, no woman can resist these lips.” He says with a smirk and a wink.

“I can.” I say with a roll of my eyes, and I turn on my heel in just enough time to catch his facial expression falling. “Anyway, have a nice time with your girlfriend, Scotchy. Because, she’s the only one desiring your lips in the building.” I say sassily, and then strut off, shivering a bit as I get out of his sight. Now that was more like me. I don’t know what had come over me earlier, but I didn’t like it.
