"You actually thought I'd come up to you and say that?" He asked in a rage. "No way! Next time we play I'll beat you."

Dad begins to walk away and Kagami lets out a growl as his hands ball up into fist.

He takes a step towards him but I grab his shoulder.

"Hey no, it's not worth it."

Kagami looks at me his eyes full of anger. Once his eyes meet mine they soften slightly.

Kagami let's out a 'tch' as he turns and heads toward the locker room still clearly pissed off.

Kuruko follows after him.

I look at Papa and let out a sigh. I cross my arms over my chest and shake my head slowly.

"You should've just kept your mouth shut." I state. "Now that you've pissed him off, he'll come at you even harder next time."

Before Papa can respond I head back towards the locker room.

I get ready to push the door open but it swings forward and smacks my face.

"Ow!" I shake my head and recover from the door hitting me.

"Shit!" I hear a familiar voice mumble.

They go on mumbling some other things, but I can only make out the words 'dumbass' and 'like'.

It's not long before Kagami stands in front of me. His hand is behind his neck and his cheeks are flushed.

"I-I'm sorry. I hope I didn't hurt you."

He grabs my chin and examines my face closely. I look at the red haired boy and smile as he lets go of my chin.

"Don't worry, I'm a tough girl."

There's a silence that falls over our conversation and Kagami is the one to break it.

"Coach sent me to check up on you since you were taking a while to get back."

I nod my head and sigh.

"I just had a few words for Papa, that's all. We should catch up to the team before they kill us for making them wait this long."

Kagami smiles and holds the door open for me.

I thank him as I walk through the door.

The walk back to the locker room is filled with a comfortable silence. Once we arrive and enter the locker room, Junpei eyes me and Kagami.

"Aye Kagami." Junpei states as he walks over to us.

Kagami looks at Junpei as he continues his walk to us.

"Huh?" He asked.

Junpei finally stops in front of us and stares back and forth between the two of us.

"What were you two doing alone, hmm?" My brother questions.

I sigh and shake my head as I exit the conversation.

I already know where this is going...

"YOU THINK YOU CAN GET WITH MY LITTLE SISTER WITHOUT ASKING ME FIRST, HUH TAIGA?!" Junpei yells as a vein pops out near his forehead.

Taiga places his hands up in surrender and shakes his head no.

"No no.. it's not like that!" Kagami says quickly. "I-I meanshescutebutthatdoesntmeanIwanna-"

Before Kagami can finish his response, Riko walks over to Junpei and smacks his head.

"Will you knock it off already!" Riko states annoyed. "Kagami and Y/n can do what they want! She's not a baby!"

Wait wait, rewind, did he just call me cute? I think to myself. My ears and neck begin to heat up and I just know that my cheeks are a light shade of pink.

"Y/n?" I hear a light voice call me.

I look up and see Kuruko standing next to me.

"Are you okay? You look like you're gonna pass out or something."

"I'm fine. Just think I need some water."

Kuruko nods his head and leaves me alone. A few seconds later he comes back with a water bottle in his hand.

"Here," he opens the cap to the bottle and pushes it towards my face. "Drink this before you faint."

I smile at Kuruko and drink the water.

"Thanks, you're super sweet Kuruko!"

The blue haired boy smiles at me I smile back at him.

I feel someone staring at me. I glance up and see Kagami looking at me. He seems deep in thought, but once he realizes he's staring he looks away with pink tinted checks.

Wonder what he was thinking about.

"Alright guys..." Riko pauses and looks at me. "Oh a-and girl, let's go!"

A short walk later we arrive at the school and head our separate ways.

The next few days are uneventful. Other than practice, there isn't anything else going on.
