"You don't think it's cringy, right?" Miu asks, twirling a strand of her honey-blonde hair around her finger. "No, of course I don't." I take her hand as we continue up the hill, kissing her cheek. The sky is smeared pastel blue and pale yellow, the clouds frothy and white, the sun barely skimming the horizon. We reach the top of the hill, flopping down on the top. Miu lays out a blanket and I sit beside her, letting her work-worn fingers fiddle with my hair. "This was such a good idea, Miu." I sigh. "R-really?" Miu mumbles, staring at her lap. "Yeah! You're so smart." Miu blushes even deeper, crossing and uncrossing her legs. "Y/nnn." She groans, grabbing my hand. "You know I'm right." I laugh. The sun begins to set, the sky turning orange and pink, washing us both in bright colour.

"Y/n?" I turn to my partner, shaking their shoulder gently. Y/n sighs in their sleep, mouth in a peaceful smile, curled up on the blanket. I lay the blanket on top of them. Just as the blanket covers their shoulders, they murmur something, repeating it again. "I... love you... Miu." They mumble. "I love you too, y/n." I smile, laying beside them as the sun begins it's colourful ascent.
