Mary had not seen a forest in a long time, so she wanted to go and explore. She was told that if she would please to go out, she would have to inform Mr Hedero or the guard standing outside her door. She told the guard that she was going to the garden because if she had said that she was going to the forest, the guard wouldn't have allowed her to go alone. Mary went down the stairs, across the hallway and out of the door.
The forest she was looking at was different from the ones she had seen in Scotland (even though she did not remember them quite well) as it was denser and foggier.
"Oh! This is a rainforest. I've read about this forest in one of my books. It's the Amazon Rainforest." Heaven knows why, but she felt very attached to the forest which was, obviously, very absurd.
Mary sprinted back to her room and got the book in which there was information about the rainforest. She was reading and reading and reading and reading continuously so that she could thoroughly memorise the facts about the amazon rainforest, but it was a quite an impossible job, so she decided to take the book along with her (just as anyone in her situation would have done.) She went out of the room, humming a very non-melodic tune with the book in her hand. She was almost in the hallway when a voice called out to her.
Mary turned around to look. A tense feeling rose in her heart. Who could it be? She was almost trembling when she was finally in a position to look at who just spoke to her. "Whew! It's only you." She let out a sigh of relief as it was only Mr Hedero.
"Where are you goin' chica?" he said "Its dinnertime." Mary had been so busy reading and memorising that she lost track of time. She went along with Mr Hedero to his room.
