I woke up with a thud. Then I realised it was me who caused it, as I looked up at the bed I was lying on a few moments before.

Did I mention I kick while sleeping? I guess I couldn't kick the giant of a man on the bed, hence ended up here. I pick up my phone to see the time. It was just 2 in the morning.

There were a few texts from Caden and one from Melissa. I decided to check Melissa's first.

I ignored her message and opened Caden's number.

I stopped reading after a few texts, and replied that he was fine and sleeping right now, he replied almost immediately. I thought he'll be asleep.

He then decided to stop texting when I didn't reply and switch to facetime. I'm not picking up the call, my dude.

I stood up to leave, it's better than leaving when he's awake. I quickly wore my jacket.

Caden called again, this time it was a normal call instead of facetime, so I answered the phone and walked to the balcony. Woah, what a view.

"Hel-"

"Is he fine?" Caden said before I could greet him.

"Yep, he's sleeping right now."

"And you're with him?" He asked in a teasing tone.

"Nope. I'm guessing he's sleeping."

"Oh c'mon, I know you're with him." He whines.

"I was just leaving-"

"NO." He suddenly yelled.

I pulled my phone away from my ear because of the sudden yell. "What the fuck?" I ask.

"Don't..don't leave him alone please, also it's like..2 in the morning. It's not safe." He babbles.

"What happened to your father now?" I ask, changing the topic. I know I shouldn't pry, but I can't help myself.

"Ah.."

"It's okay, you don't have to tell me. It was out of line." I quickly tell him. Can someone come and smack my head? I'm getting stupid day by day.

"No it's fine, they were arguing about Bi- Beth and dad started saying things to him, how he's doing him a favor, no one will love him and things. He got mad and you know my dad, he says shit to get a reaction out of Chase and gets successful every fucking time. Then he fucking hit him." He said, his voice hardening towards the end.

"Oh." That's all I could manage. Chase's words were ringing in my head.

Don't go.

You want to leave me.

"I'll talk to you later." I say into the phone before hanging up.

If I could kill a person with no one knowing, I would kill Pete Black in a blink. Hell, I'd kill him with everyone knowing too. I won't even choose between my mother or Pete, I'll kill Pete.
