SEVEN'S POV
I must have been sleeping for around 12 hours when the sound of music started to play.
"Darlin' you've got to let me know,
Should I stay or should I go?
If you say that you are mine,
I'll be here 'till the end of time.
So you've got to let me know,
Should I stay or should I go?"I sleepily rubbed my eyes and opened them to reveal Joyce with her axe. She was yelling something as if she was talking to someone. "Come on! Come on! I know you're here!"
"It's always a tease, tease, tease.
You're happy when I'm on my knees.
One day it's fine and next it's black.
So if you want me off your back,
Well, come on and let me know,
Should I stay or should I go?"I watched Will's Mom in confusion. She hadn't realized I had woken up, probably because I was still laying down. But what... did she just forget I was here or something? No shit I'm going to wake up to music playing at maximum volume.
"Should I stay or should I go now?
Should I stay or should I go now?
If I go there will be trouble,
And if I stay it will be double.
So come on and let me know,
Should I stay or should I go?"The music switched off as the song ended. Joyce was wandering in circles, confused and sad. I watched her in sorrow, wishing I could do more to help her. I can, and I will. I was about to get up and make my presence known when all the lights flickered. My concern immediately went to Joyce but she didn't react to the lights. "Wh....?" Was the only sound that left my mouth before everything went cold.
Now I get it, Joyce didn't react to the lights flickering because they weren't. It was just me switching between the real world and the Dark Dimension. I sat up in a hurry, pushing the blankets off my feet. I walked around to where the stereo was, covered in goo. I tried to pick it up, but the vines were holding it down. I walked outside to see darkness everywhere. It was midday, and yet it felt like midnight.
I walked back inside and that was when I heard it.
"Mom? Mom?!"
I instantly turned to face the sound and noticed a small boy trying to break through a wall to the outside.
Will.
I was so relieved that he wasn't dead, so relieved that there was still hope. I ran over to him and started to bang on the wall with him. He looked at me confused for a second, but when he caught on he continued to slam the wall with his fists.
"Mom it's coming!" He yelled to the wall.
"Will? Will?" a distorted voice replied.
"Mom!" He yelled again, now violently hitting the red, gooey wall.
"Will, baby! I'm coming," the person on the other side who I assumed to be Joyce responded, but still in a distorted tone. I watched in amazement as a bit of light started to shine through the wall as if it was being uncovered. There was some sort of paper being ripped off of the wall from the other side.
"Mom! It's like home but it's dark and wet, and it's cold." He cried, trying to get to his Mom.
"Will, baby I will find you, okay, I will find you," Joyce called, trying to reassure her son.
I looked around, seeing if there was anything I could use to take the wall down. The axe that Joyce had held earlier was lying against the couch, covered in slime. I started to run for it but was cut off by the sounds of growling. I jumped back in fright, gasping as the creature slowly made its way towards me.
