[MASKY X TOBY] The Beginning ? P.1

During the time we eat fast food, no one has talked or contact to each other.

Hoddie seemed aware of this atmosphere, but he couldn't do anything to change the air. For having nothing to say, I looked at Hoddie's face and noticed something interesting. Only when eating, he pulled on the mask which reveal the stubble on his chin. With such that personality and all appearances, Hodd must be the same age as Masky.

However, 'nothing to do and just eating' make me soon bore. The most confusing question for me is the attitude of while mask man.

Because I'm a newbie doesn't mean he can angry with me. We were a bit disagree with each other, but that's not the point to avoid someone. I mean, we're two strangers, just partners in distant future but both act like couples. It's not like I'm gay or something, but it's all I can see back to now.

I don't remember the person I used to be before, but now I feel a bit angry. Although want to talk about something, I'm not good at contract the other which starts a conversation. Don't know how to act properly, I give up and just stop thinking.

Maybe it was to silence, Hoddie suddenly turned to me and started talking.

"Where were you running just from now, didn't we tell you to rest?"

"Oh, I–I was going to s–say hello to e–everyone.
G–going up the s–stairs, T–Toby met a b–boy named BEN."

"The troll? Doesn't he often go to game that time?"

"W-what's you j–just say?"

"Through the game, it's understandable like walk through the television. Don't you see it?"

Remember back to it, I think Hoddie was right. The room was quite dark when I entered but still had a shadow coming from television. Perhaps because I was quite scared, my eye dared to open, not thinking or paying attention to anything else.

"How do h–humans..."

"Don't you know?"

"K-Know what?"

"That kid is dead, drowned by some kind wear church like FATHER."

I shivered, feeling nauseous at the sound 'father' coming from Hoddie. While waiting for me to finish the drink, Hoddie explain an overview of the background when they met BEN.

BEN came here by himself through the television. Believe that he was homeless and useful, Slenderman let him stay, give an order which controls people who entered the forest. No matter what their purpose is, soon the good fighters in mansion will find and kill the targets, just in case no one sneak in and break the law.

Although I'm still wondering who the 'good fighters' here are, and why there're so many empty rooms in the house. Hoddie seems to ignore my question, pretend to eat like haven't heard anything. Knowing couldn't find information from this man, I had to return to the old topic.

"Dead, is he a ghost?"

"Electronic ghost or some supernatural. It's a bit difficult to explain but hard to fight with him. We came to blows in the beginning, but as much as we tried to attack BEN, he always hiding or disappear when he want.
Well, it's been quite a while since that day. Because he was useful like I have said, Slender let him stay and befriend with Sally."

“BEN is like that…”

I mumbled, wondering if there was any killer as dead as him. I mean, it's not like I'm scared of ghosts or something, he's quite nice, right?

There may be many strange members in this house, maybe I can learn something from them after this.

After finished the meal, Hoddie and I started cleaning the place we ate. Since everyone is aware of keeping the cleaning room, there're not many things to do like I thought. Seeing Masky sit on the window just smoking makes me a bit calm. While I'm about to start a conversation, suddenly the door open, Ben walked in with the same goblin green suit.

"Someone keep going deep into the woods. The other two got out first, so I'm thinking of going out for a bit. The three of you can take care of them by yourself, can't you?"

As it was no longer to stay, Ben turned away, just glancing at me without a look.

"Good situation, if you're well then get ready to go Toby." – Masky who had been silent for a while also stood up, put on the familiar white mask.

"We've got work to do."

I didn't understand anything, not sure if myself could grasp fundamental of the story or not. Turning to look up Hoddie as an ask for help, he just smiled a perfectionist and ignored me.

Not long after two of them took me out, the new job quickly became apparent. The first mission was killing those who dared enter the forest. This is the first time I see the whole forest without Masky and Hoddie leading ship, I would be a lost child soon.

Standing on the tree looking down, I saw the faint light of a group which men and women walking together. There were quite a few people, but Hoddie said it was just an usual bravery competition. The flash of the phone shows they just got excited to go in. For your die, blame the stupidity of the guy who suggests going to the forbidden forest.

Hoddie hides near the big dirt below while Masky climbs a tree to stand beside me. He's still observing the group of people when tapped his head and pointing at Hoddie's signal.

"Remember, it is the time to act. You're on a team, you have to work with us.
For a large group of people, you have to act quickly so they don't have time to react."

I nodded, looking cautious and worried.

Although quick and not lacking in skill, I only acted to instinct killing someone. I have never succeeded in cooperating a relationship, can't help feeling restless. Being guided by Masky shows he's a focused man while working. it's helped a lots to contribute my caution.

Holding the ax with the firmness in my hand. In the blink of eye, I jumped down without halting.

Following the strength of hand, I split the heads of two boys while they were chatting happily. The split head was spurting a lot of blood which stick in the clothes I was wearing. Thanks to that large of blood my clothes are dirty, it also makes the rest of group come from surprised to froze. The raid is easier when these stupid people just fearing and make some gurgling sounds.

Not wasting the golden opportunity, I swing my hand and slashed across another two standing. Obviously, this time there was a high scream from the survivors that woke up the forest. They all ran around, screaming for help like pigs which took me a bit of time. In the end, it didn't change anything anyway.

The chase lasted less than 15 minutes which help people could hide. At those moments, Mask helps me shooting some fugitives with Hodd's crowbar help.
