Peter didn't know how he would explain that he was driven home by the Tony Stark to his adoptive parents. He knew, since they called and were worried, that they would be waiting outside, making sure that he got home safely, since they lived in Queens and there are lots of muggers running around at every corner. He kept pondering on how to tell them when Tony caught his expression and laughed. "I guess the Moore's would be surprized to see you be driven home by me?" he asked, immediately catching on what he was thinking. Peter only nodded, still trying to think of an excuse.

"Don't worry. Do your parents know how high your IQ is?" Tony asked the teenager. Peter felt a weird feeling at someone say that he has parents, but it was a good feeling, so he didn't correct him. "No, they don't know how high my IQ is, but they do know that I'm smarter than your average teenager." Peter responded, not unkindly. Tony nodded. He looked like he was thinking about some big decision before nodding to himself and staring directly in Peter's eyes, road long forgotten, but luckily FRIDAY steered it, so they were safe.

"Since you'll be coming to the tower regularly for training, getting to know our newest team member and helping me and Bruce in the labs, we could say that you had an interview with me, which would explain the late part, and that I had excepted you as my personal intern and you wouldn't be lying to them. I could also say that you have long hours so they wouldn't get suspicious." Tony ended, waiting for Peter's reaction on his master plan, which he thought was great.

Peter contemplated on this. He could let Tony tell his parents that, since it wouldn't be lying, but he also hated not telling them the whole truth. These were kind, thrust worthy, and understanding couple and they had given him such a good life after the passing of his aunt. He sighed, not really liking this idea and told his new boss that he'll go with his plan.

Once they arrived at the Moore's house, the couple were indeed waiting for Peter on the front porch. Peter sighed and thought, Let's get this over with. The couple didn't look twice at the fancy black BMW car that parked a few feet from their home, since Peter would be coming by foot so imagine their surprize when they saw Peter step out of the car. They stared at him for a second then Mrs Moore crushed him in a hug and kissed the top of his head. Peter smiled at this affection and hugged her closer saying something that he never thought he would say "Thanks mom." As soon as those words left his mouth, he immediately felt her tense. He quickly pulled back, spluttering out apologies after noticing her pose and the tears in her eyes that had yet to fall. "It's ok." She said in a hushed tone and pulled Peter in a bone crushing hug.

Lisa was so engrossed in the moment between her and her son that she forgot to thank the man or woman that drove Peter, but luckily her husband thanked him and when he realized that he was talking to one of the smartest and richest people on the planet, he froze in place, looking at Peter than at Mr Stark then repeat the process trying to figure out what happened in the tower but coming up blank so he resulted in looking at the man in awe. "Honey, we have a special guest." He said over his shoulder, not moving his head in the slightest.

Lisa went to thank the man, not before she gave her son another fast hug, but stopped in her tracks immediately when she saw the person. Unlike her husband she stuck out her hand for a friendly handshake. "It's a pleasure to meet you Mr Stark." She said, smiling. Mr Stark shook her hand "The pleasure is all mine Mrs Moore." He replied. "Thank you for driving my son here, Mr Stark. You didn't have too." Mr Moore said, finally breaking from his trance like state, courtesy of his wife jabbing him in the ribs with her elbow. "It wasn't a problem at all and please call me Tony." He said, flashing them a genuine smile which was something that the public rarely saw. "Then you could call me Lisa and my husband Dylan." She invited him in but said that he had some projects to work on back at the lab, which the parents believed but Peter rolled his eyes, knowing that Tony was trying to get out of an awkward dinner. "I came here to personally tell you that Peter here, due to his high IQ and of his understandings in robotics, mechanical engineering, Chemistry and Biology, has been choose by me and Dr Bruce Banner to have an internship at Stark Industries!" he told the now stunned parents. "I'll send information tomorrow." he finished, waving as he got in the car and driving away. As he passed Peter, he gave him a thumbs up and a wink, which caused Peter to snort quietly, not wanting to be seen rude in front of his parents.

That night the Moore's house was filled with cries of joy and happiness, and full of unhealthy food that was only brought out on special occasions, and apparently this counted as a special occasion.
