Forward In Time

"Let go your earthly tether. Enter the void. Empty and become wind. Empty and become wind." Zaheer chants as he meditates in the air temple.

P'Li walks into the room, "The airbenders are secured."

"Thank you, P'Li. For everything."

"Of course." She turns to leave.

Zaheer stands up, "I want you to know: not one day went by in that prison when I didn't think of you."

P'Li walks up to Zaheer, "The years apart only made my love for you stronger. And deep down I knew you would find a way to get me out. Just like you saved me from becoming that warlord's killing machine when I was a girl. You've shown me what true freedom means."

"And after today," Zaheer clasps his hand with P'Li's, "we'll show the entire world what it means. No more prisons, no more running."

"I love you, Zaheer."

"I love you too."

Suyin's airship docks at the bottom of Laghima's Peak. Tonraq and Suyin walks outside while Lin and Toph talks to Team Avatar on the mouth of the airship.

Lin passes a radio to Sokka as she addresses the team going to retrieve the airbenders, "Radio the second you see those airbenders."

"I will, Chief." Mako replies, "Good luck."

Lin nods to Mako before walking out.

"You guys be careful." Toph says, "If any of you die I will kill you."

"Noted." Aang says with a small smile.

"I mean it, Twinkletoes. You die and I'll make Korra's life living hell."

"Yeah, please don't die." Korra said.

"I'll be fine guys. I've survived worse."

Aang and Sokka hug everyone before walking out of the airship. Once they leave the airship takes off and Aang watches it fly off.

"Aang." Sokka said.

Aang looks at his friend, "Don't worry, Sokka. I'll be all right."

"I just want you to know, even though I didn't trust you when we first met... you quickly became my best friend. You showed me that you can fight a war and have fun."

Aang smiles, "And we'll also become brothers in the future."

Sokka laughs, "We're gonna drive Katara crazy."

Aang laughs as well as the two hug. When they pull away, Aang addresses Korra's dad, "Tonraq, watch out for Zaheer. He's not very fond of world leaders."

"I can handle him." Tonraq replies, "Just stay focused on your mission."

Tonraq and the metalbenders scale up the mountain until they are obscured from view by the clouds. Aang opens his glider and grabs onto Sokka before flying them both up the mountain.

The airship approaches the Northern Air Temple. Team Avatar surveys the damage from inside the ship with worried looks.

"Oh, man." Bolin said.

"They really put up a fight." Zuko added.

"Mako, did you see the airbenders?" Sokka asks from the radio.

"Not yet. We're just arriving." Mako replies, "Don't let Aang turn himself over until I get a visual on them."

Asami steers the airship to the temple, while Bolin and Korra ties the tethering ropes. They approach the temple to see Ghazan awaiting them.
