a safe x reader book of oneshots!

 "Y/n! Your birthday is tomorrow sweetie!" A loud voice rang out, causing me to stir awake.

"I know i know.." I mumbled back, turning around to try and get a few more hours of sleep.
"Well, are you excited?" My parent opened my door and peaked in.
"sure.." At this point i was half asleep, ready for my almost ten year old body to completely shut down again.
"Get up child i swear.." The blankets were rudely pulled from my curled up body.
"Shush." I mumbled.
"Get up child! We have to go see your trainer. Since you're obviously so excited about your upcoming birthday."
"fine.. just 5 more minutes.."
"You're gonna get a cat or something if you keep acting like this."
At these simple words i got up faster than ive ever done before, colorful flashes, and black spotted my vision.
"No. I want a dragon." i pouted making my parent/s sigh.
"yeah yeah. get up."

"Y/n! wake up! today you get your animal!" My parent yelled outside my door.

Even though i just responded with a "cool" i was so excited, I quickly put on my clothes (something cute, that a 10 y/o would wear.) Jumping while putting my bottoms on.
"maybe you will get a dragon." My parent whispered in my ear before picking me up and putting me on their shoulders.
'hopefully!' i couldnt help but pray for the flamy beast i would call my best bud. Although we don't choose the names i wanted it to be named flame.
"Well come on y/n lets go already." They called out, grabbing my arm softly and pulling me towards the door.
I wasn't sure how this would work, but I knew that my new forever best friend wouldn't just show up, we had to go to the place. It was a huge building with a lot of kids my size surrounding it, all of them had a huge smile on their face, some were walking out with animals, ranging from mouses to tiny pandas. One had this tiny blob thing, it didn't have any hair and was honestly the most ugly animal I've ever seen.
Walking in It smelled like the dentist office. The walls were a light blue, and there were windows splashed all over. The room was naturally lit, only having two or three actual light sources. There were a bunch of chairs in the corners which were almost all filled with small children, or their parents. Some were crying, others were sitting calmly, others were too busy playing with something to care, a few were too energetic to sit still.
I followed my parent and sat down next to them, waiting for the nice lady to come out.
