Lotus hummed softly, trying to gather enough energy to lift himself out of Mora's pack. He had been trying to get her attention for days now but couldn't seem to get a word out, and Mora seemed to pay less and less attention to him each day. Frustration was something Lotus didn't think he could feel, and he could always hear Mora when she tossed and turned and cried at night. But she never seemed to notice he was there anymore.
Nevertheless, he still tried to reach her. When he finally managed to whirr his way out of the pack, he saw her sitting on her bed, legs crossed and eyes closed. She seemed at peace, until she opened one of her eyes and saw him weakly hovering in front of her. Mora gasped and placed a hand underneath him, but he moved back and kept holding himself up.
"No, don't worry! I'm doing better, see?" He made a little show of spinning around her, and she smiled at him blissfully. That was the look he lived for.
"Lotus, you won't believe what I'm doing... I'm meditating! It looks pretty dumb doesn't it?" She gestured dramatically, mocking Sherlock to herself, which seemed to amuse her at least.
Though, Lotus was a bit concerned about Sherlock's effects on her. He knew he shouldn't be jealous, but he felt useless to her now that he was helping her.
"Did Sherlock tell you to start meditating?" Lotus landed next to her on the bed, as if he were sitting like a person.
"It was more like he forced me into it, but I don't...hate it so far." Mora's face flushed and she played with her thumbs in her lap, most likely thinking about earlier's interaction with Sherlock.
"How does he expect you to get better by just sitting there with your thoughts? I know meditation is supposed to promote a healthy mind but your mind isn't exactly healthy right now." Lotus said flatly in response, and Mora gave him an offended look."I mean... I know that, but did you really need to say it like that?" She looked away from him, getting ready to get out of bed again. The weight of everything came crashing down on her again, and she waved him away.
"Hey! You can't just leave me here all day every day, Mora!" Lotus said as she walked away, and she stopped in her tracks.
"I thought you... didn't have those kinds of feelings?" Mora looked back at him as he flew closer to her, her eyes wide with horror. Had something made him more human? Had she left him all alone for far too long, without the knowledge of a million books to keep him busy? Mora wasn't sure if this was a defect or not.
"I...I don't. Or I didn't." Lotus' energy faltered and he dropped lower to the ground, his voice became harder to understand.
Suddenly more emotion poured out of him.
"Mora, I don't want to be useless anymore, please, please help me." He begged, and she ran over to catch him before he hit the ground."What do I do? There has to be something. Please. I didn't mean to make you feel this way. I promise you you're not useless." Mora held him close to her chest and thought for a moment.
"Don't take me to that exo please." He said quietly, and her eyes lit up at this.
"Sherlock." She said finally, and felt Lotus protesting slightly against her, but she didn't care, she made her way back to his place. If anyone knew anything about ghosts, it was him. Mora almost felt bad for coming to him again, but she wasn't about to let anything happen to Lotus again because of her.

"So you just... left him in your backpack for a few days?" Sherlock's eyes narrowed at Mora, and she scoffed, looking down at her companion who barely kept his eye open. Lotus did look pretty helpless, and suddenly Mora felt like she was staring into a mirror.
