I remember when I met her for the first time, I was just walking home from school when a see a blinding ball of light appear, as it faded away, a figure... I couldn't tell if it was human or not. Once the light faded completely, I saw the figure... She seemed like a normal human, except for a few things.
She had long brown hair, almost reaching her waist all pulled together in a tight braid. Her skin was scarred and... broken? It seemed to be cracking like it was glass... some sort of black blood glowed from the inside the cracks.
Her eyes... I never saw them. They were covered by some sort of blindfold... I never knew why. But most alarming of all, she had two large coal-black butterfly-like wings, sprouting out her back and two black horns jabbing out from her head.
I jumped back in surprise at this... this thing! I thought that was it... till she spoke.
"Halt human! I have been sent to your world to right the wrongs made by your kind! Point me to the direction of Jacob Williams!"
I shuddered. Her voice was booming and commanding. It took me a moment to understand what she said, but when I did I realized... I was Jacob Williams! I put my arms in defence from this strange creature.
"What do you want with me!? Who even are you!? What even are you!?" I tried yelling, but my voice came out quiet and meek. She looked at me with shock, looked at herself and sighed. With another flash of light, she had become completely human.
Her long hair seemed to cut short, now only ending at her shoulders, her scars and cracks were hidden by a mirage of bandages, and her horns and wings seemed to disappear into nothing.
"My apologies, I did not mean to scare you, Jacob Williams. I am Dawn..." She paused as if to wonder if she had a last name. It didn't seem like she did as she moved on. "I was sent here to earth to right the wrongs done by your kind, and I need your assistance to do so!"
She still had that commanding tone, but it no longer sounded otherworldly. It sounded like those kids, your parents would say were no good. That little kids would run away from.
I don't know what was going through my head when I agreed to help, but little did I know, that one decision would change my life forever.
