Keys walked into the house and he immediately heard what Alex had been talking about with Lou and her grandpa Jack, as apparently they were still shouting at each other about this "Dude Ranch" thing that Keys didn't really give a damn about to be honest, but he had a strong feeling that he was walking into a warzone.
Keys walked right into the kitchen, right in time for Lou to spill her coffee all over him and Keys sighed. "When I came in here for coffee, I didn't mean on my favorite t-shirt, Lou." Keys said and she handed him a towel, as Keys had burning hot coffee running down his shirt now. "I'll be fine. I just need coffee." Keys insisted and he moved past Lou to the coffee machine.
"Where is Alex? I don't even see her out there or even helping to gentle that mustang that Amy has gotten herself totally obsessed over. Where is she, Keys?" Lou asked as Keys sighed with a small snort, as he took a large mug of coffee for himself.
"Well, Lou. Alex was so tired and exhausted, that she is currently taking a nap in my truck because she knew that she didn't want to come near either of you guys when you were yelling and shouting at one another, so she swiped my keys and went for a nap. I will bring your mug back later Jack." Keys promised and Jack nodded, as Keys walked out of the house and he stood next to Mallory, as she was watching Caleb and Amy with their proceedings and Keys chuckled a little bit. "Hey Mallory." He said.
"Hey Keys. Where did Alex go that suddenly?" Mallory asked and Keys nodded at his truck and Mallory smiled a little bit. "Poor Alex can't sleep in her family home. Whatever will she do?" She asked and Keys scoffed, moving his mug of coffee into his left hand and he started messing up her hair with the right. "Hey! Also, you stink like coffee." Mallory noted and smacked his hand away, as Keys laughed.
"Yeah, I know. Lou dumped a pot of hot coffee on me by mistake." Keys said and he walked into the barn, climbing up to the loft and knocking on the door. Keys heard an answering grunt and he walked in, as Ty looked at him. "Sorry, I have a couple of my shirts hanging up in here." Keys explained and Ty motioned him in.
"What happened to you?" Ty asked and Keys laughed quietly at the question that it seemed everybody was asking at the moment.
"Lou dumped a pot of hot coffee on me and Alex is currently asleep in the driver's seat of my truck and I smell like coffee, stink of it according to Mallory." Keys said and he had a couple of shirts hanging up and he moved through the rack of shirts. "Did you want me to move my stuff out of here?" He asked and Ty shrugged a little bit.
"I don't mind. I would offer you as a spot as my roommate but unless you want to sleep on the floor, we don't really have any other options here." Ty said and Keys chuckled as he looked over his shoulder at him, as he changed his coffee-soaked and smelling t-shirt for another one that is not smelling like the extremely caffeinated drink.
"I would rather sleep in a horse stall, you snore." Keys joked and Ty punched him in the shoulders lightly and Keys was laughing, until Caleb stormed up into the room. "Oh, here we go." Keys muttered.
"We are paid to work here, not to stand around and chatter all day together. Where is the annoying other twin anyways, at least she does her work." Caleb O'Dell was the clear bane of Keys' existence and the guy looked just about ready to kill him.
"That other twin was woken up by a mustang jumping clean over the hood of her boyfriend's truck." Caleb winced at the sound of Alex's grumpy voice, as she shoved past him with a yawn and Keys held out the coffee to her. "Also, four months is a lot of time to catch up on, O'Dell just mind your own business." Alex said and Caleb rolled his eyes.
"They are being paid to work here, just like I am. Why should I cut them any slack?" Caleb asked grumpily and Keys stepped forward in anger, before Alex's hand caught his and the gentle restraint was enough to cool him off, for now at least.
"Because it isn't your job to boss people around here, Caleb. So I suggest that you get back to work because from what I have seen, you have done nothing but screw around trying to catch that mustang. Whereas Ty and Keys have finished the entire barn and I finished the tack room up before I took my nap. So now who is the one, who needs to be bossed around? Because I'm sure as hell not cutting you any slack anymore, so beat it." Alex snapped and Caleb glared at her, but he knew damn well that he was outnumbered and so he left.
"Nicely done." Ty said and Alex shrugged, as she drank the remainder of Keys' coffee. "Wait, does this mean that we get the rest of the day off?" Ty asked and Alex punched him really gently in the shoulder. "Ow!" He complained and Alex was laughing.
"Do you know my grandpa at all?" Alex asked and Ty was rolling his eyes at her, before they all walked downstairs again.
