"It's so odd to see this place without snow everywhere," Alicia observed as the six of you walked the path down to Hogsmeade. You had to agree with her, it was the middle of April and the spring sun had long since melted the snow that usually covered the village. Even on a cool, cloudy day like it was that morning, you would miss the sight of snow a little bit.

You walked next to Fred, your fingers occasionally brushed against his and that resulted in shy smiles from both of you. You still hadn't made anything official, but by that point your closest friends knew, as well as whoever saw you kiss each other after the Second Task.

Angelina and Alicia had squealed and pounced on you when you told them one night in the dormitory and the three of you lay huddled up on your bed and had whispered excitedly about everything that had finally happened between you and Fred. Thankfully the two girls hadn't exchanged bets like George and Lee had, but their comments of 'knew it' or 'told you so!' showed you that their thoughts were still on the same wavelength as that of the two boys.

As you walked beside the boy in question into the village, trailing slightly behind the others, you noticed him glancing around nervously. "You alright, Fred?" you asked him and he nodded almost too eagerly, "yep, I'm good. Are you?"

You huffed a laugh, "I'm fine, Freddie. I'm just wondering why you're acting weird all of a sudden." A small creeping doubt started worming its way into your thoughts, and you were wondering if he was having second thoughts about you after the last couple of months embracing your new and very much changed relationship.

"I'm not weird, you're weird," he muttered distractedly, still looking around as if waiting for something while you began to walk across the large stone bridge into the village. You were just about to press him further when he grabbed your hand and halted you on the spot, and yelled across to your friends, "now, George!" And then Lee, Angelina and Alicia broke into a run and laughed maniacally as George threw a handful of something into the air before running after them.

"What in the world-" you began just as glittering gold fireworks blasted in the air, sending bursting sparks cascading through the sky around you. You looked up at Fred with wide eyes and he was already beaming at you, "I wanted to make this a moment to remember," he told you quietly. Gold sparks rained down around you like an April shower but didn't spark or burn, in fact they seemed to be more of an illusion than actual specks of flame and they disappeared when they reached your shoulders.

Fred took your hand in his and pressed it to his lips while you stared up at him in bewilderment, "I know these past couple of months have been really new for the both of us, and we wanted to take things slow to make sure we were doing things right, but I really want to be able to call you something else other than my best friend."

A smile began to grow on your lips, "you do?" you asked him and he nodded, "I do. So Y/N, I want us to be together, properly and I want to show you off and show everyone how happy I am when I'm with you. So...will you be my girlfriend?"

You couldn't stop the shriek of delight from escaping your throat as you jumped up and threw your arms around the tall boy's neck, "yes! Yes of course!" you told him enthusiastically and he spun you around in his arms laughing in glee.

You both laughed giddily and he set you down on your feet, "I'm glad you said yes, because I've been waiting all day to do this in front of everyone," and then he wrapped his arm around you and pulled you into a greedy kiss, going as far as tipping you backwards slightly in an almost- dip. The whoops and cheers across the bridge from your friends made you pull back so you could grin at them, "SHE SAID YES!" Fred yelled as he pumped a fist in the air, both of you walking towards your friends who stood waiting.
