"I think we could've guessed that ourselves, Fred," George said looking pleased as you reached the rest of them and then he looked down at you, "he spent all week planning it." Fred scoffed at his brother for telling you but you thought it was endearing. As the others started moving again, you looked happily up at your boyfriend, a word which gave you butterflies when you thought of it, and he immediately tangled his fingers with yours. And you walked through the village holding hands.
A couple of hours later, you were sitting in your usual corner booth in the Three Broomsticks near the fire. As you sat with your friends you came to the realisation that you and Fred being together hardly changed a thing within your group. You still poked fun at each other and the others and Fred still casually slung an arm over your shoulders as he always had before, the only difference was the occasional kiss he pressed to the side of your head or your entangled fingers which you rested on your lap under the table.
The door of the pub opened as Cedric and Cho walked in, her hand tucked in his as they opened their jackets and looked around for somewhere in the crowded inn to sit. Fred saw you looking at them and turned back to the couple, "oi, Diggory!" You glanced up at Fred but he wasn't looking at you, he waved Cedric over to your table.
"Come sit with us if you like? We've room for two more," he offered the two and Cedric looked at Cho with a smile, "sure, that would be nice. Thanks, Fred." You grinned as the two pulled over chairs and sat with you at your table and you squeezed Fred's hand gratefully.
Cedric and Cho immediately settled in with your group and you were all sharing stories and jokes about school and your respective professors. Cedric spoke about the Tournament and the rest listened intently as he described his experiences with the first two tasks.
"I'm glad you told Harry about the clue in the egg," you said to him, "the noise was so bloody terrible that he refused to open it again until you told him to put it under water." The group shuddered at the memory of the horrible screeching that had come from the egg when Harry opened it in the common room after the First Task.
Cedric nodded thoughtfully and smiled warmly at you, "it was the least I could do after he warned me about the dragons, I would've been far worse off than a few minor burns if I hadn't known." He absently reached up to touch his face where the now-faded burns had been.
"I think you could've made the scars work, to be honest," Cho said to him and he laughed fondly and squeezed her hand on the tabletop. George piped up then, "our brother Charlie is a dragon keeper so he's got a bunch of scars, and it makes him look badass to be honest."
"I'd say he does look badass," Alicia sighed dreamily, much to the horror of the boys, "I'm joking, I'm joking!" She defended as the twins started to object, then she turned to the rest of you, "I'm not joking on bit, Charlie Weasley is a fit bloke."
"Enough, Spinnet!" George cried covering his ears as Alicia began to teasingly describe what she found attractive about Charlie, and the rest of you burst into laughter as the twins squirmed in their seats.
"Maybe you could get Y/N to set you up, Alicia?" Cedric said to the girl jokingly, and then he nodded to Cho who sat laughing beside him, "she's proven herself to be fond of playing matchmaker, and it worked out well for me." He grinned at you and you rolled your eyes at him playfully.
"Now there's an idea!" Alicia exclaimed as she turned to you, "but it's a shame her matchmaking abilities didn't extend to herself and Fred, the idiots," she grinned mischievously at you and you swatted her arm, "shut up, you!"
Cedric looked between you and Fred then, "you two are finally an item then, I take it?" and you nodded, flushing slightly.
The Hufflepuff boy beamed at you, "about time! I was sensing less longing looks between you, and less glares in my direction from Weasley," he grinned roguishly at Fred who snorted in pleasant surprise at being the butt of a joke, by none other than Cedric Diggory.
