You were panting harshly as you made your way downstairs. Right now, you were carrying the fourth bag of garbage out of your house.
The clean-up of your room had been more exhausting than you expected at first.
You kicked the front door open with your foot and set down the filled piece of black plastic for a second, taking a deep breath and a pause from all the work.
While rubbing your palm over your forehead to get your sweat under control, you noticed a pair of eyes on your body. No, not just one. There were multiple people looking at you.
Without turning your head to the side, you glanced onto the street to see a blue trans am.
You squated down and lifted the bag up again before making your way towards the dustbin, not minding the car.
Why would you?
You threw your trash away and sighed as your posture fell.
You were tired, annoyed by having to tidy up your room and, most importantly, finally fucking done. That shit had already taken you more than three hours.
You were kind of wondering why your parents hadn't cleaned up the mess even a little bit over the years.
When you looked up to the car again, it was still standing in the same place it had stood in before.
You heard mumbled noises from the vehicle, before it drove off and you could get a look at who had been staring at you.
There were four boys sitting in the vehicle, cackling and smiling to one another.
Let's say, you were definitely not pleased to see some longhaired boy with a shit-eating, wide ass, toothy grin inside of it, looking at you.
Well, not just some boy.
And not just some grin...It was Patrick fucking Hockstetter. He was still here and still hanging around with that Bowers guy, Victor and Belch - also sitting in the car.
Although the last two mentioned hadn't been as forward and harsh with you as Patrick and Henry when you still lived in here.
Now they seemed like pretty close friends. All of 'em ready to bully you.
Seeing them in the car and knowing they'd been staring at you made your guts turn inside of you.
And finally, you remembered what made you feel all dizzy and torn when you thought about coming back here.
Not just the town being boring, not only the lack of free time activities or friends at school.
It was also them. The 'Bowers Gang', how they now called themselves, who had terrorized you your whole youth.
Actually, just Hockstetter and Bowers. They'd been on your heels since you could think. To be true, you had avoided thinking about it for the time you had spent at your grandparents'.
But that was over now.
Now you could stand up for yourself and others. You wouldn't break down crying in front of them or some whiny shit like that. At least you hoped so.
You wondered who they were chasing after now, since it was still school and summer break wouldn't start in a few weeks.
You also wondered if the newer guys you barely knew were just as cruel as Patrick and Henry themselves.
Shaking your head, you let loose of those thoughts. They were only bringing you down and you didn't need that. You needed a good evening with your family. No time to worry about the losers, who had to deal with your old bullies now.
