As the sun beamed through the windows of the jet, James turned to Celeste, the glow hitting the side of her sleepy face. He inhaled through his nose as she smiled softly at him, her doey eyes blinking slowly. He felt his heart skip a beat, she looked so pure, he ran his finger over her cut which had started to scab over, brushing the hair away from it. He was basking in her calm energy, she rested her head on his shoulder as they watched a movie.

James called Steve early that morning, he told him what happened as Celeste sat chewing her nails. She could hear him panicking "I'm coming home. Is she ok, we're leaving to come back." James calmed him down, he explained they needed to leave for a little while, how it was perfect timing to meet her parents. Celestes' phone lit up with Jas' name, she didn't answer it whilst James was still talking.

"Celeste, babe, ring me please xxxx"

"I need to know you're ok, we're coming home please don't leave I need to see you xxxx"

Celeste sighed heavily, showing James the texts as Steve shouted at him. They knew it was going to erupt, the only way they could deal with it was letting them get all their anger out.

"Steve, please, I'm so sorry for ruining your trip. But if we didn't tell you, I'd be the one with a broken nose and you'd probably never let me see Celeste again."

"Too right Buck, I can't believe this has fucking happened to her. How could you let -"

Celeste grabbed the phone "Steve! Stop. Please. He feels bad enough, I'm fine. I'm not a baby. I'm so sorry, we couldn't leave without telling you. I wish you were coming with us, but maybe introducing you one at a time to mum and dad is a good idea. I don't think my mum could cope with you both." She laughed softly trying to calm him down.

"Red, I should have been there."

"Jesus do you both think being with me would have stopped it? No. You can't be with me all the time. Now please, go introduce my best friend to June - and when you get back - I want to see pictures!"

"I knew he'd tell you" Steven laughed "ok Ce, I will. Hold on, Jas wants to talk to you."

Celeste took in a deep breath, preparing herself for her wrath.

"Babe, I'm - babe are you ok?" She sniffled.

"Oh Jas please don't cry, please. I'm so sorry we've spoiled your trip. But I couldn't leave without telling you. I promise we'll go back in the summer. I'll send you photos of James in the pub, dad's already getting the games sorted"

James turned his head quickly to her, a worried look in his eyes.

"Enjoy the rest of your trip, send me pictures. I love you babe."

She sniffled again, a small laugh escaping her "ok, I love you too. Send my love to Cora and Dave, and if you see my mum, say hi."

Celeste hung up the phone, taking a deep breath and handing James his phone.

"Games?" He questioned her.

She laughed "come on let's pack we need to leave in an hour."

The plane touched down on solid ground. Celeste squeezed James' hand. They stepped out onto the tarmac, a green land rover defender sat waiting for them, 2 bodies jumped out of it, Cora was jumping up and down "Celeste!" She ran towards her, Celeste dropped her bag and ran towards her mum, embracing her tight, her dad quickly joining in, enclosing them both in his arms, kissing her all over.
