Mentally and Physically Tearing Him Apart

Almost everyone who entered the door of the Owl House was exhausted. For the first time in forever, the Owl House looked empty. It looked so much duller than usual. With everyone gone it now looked as if the marvelous building had lost its light. But with everyone back, that light had returned once more. As Lilith reattached Hooty back to the door(which everyone looked away at because ew that's so gross) Edric and Emira collapsed on the couch in the living room. Once everyone had made themselves comfortable in the living room Luz got up and twirled around.

"We did it! Mission Save Hunter from inevitable doom was a success!" She pumped a fist in the air.

Hunter cracked a smile as he crossed his arms and leaned against the wall looking at everyone.

He still couldn't believe it. He had gone up against his uncle- no.

No.

He had gone up against his abuser. Someone he considered family.

And he won, technically.

Hunter fell in a daze. The ride back here was a blur to him. He felt powerful. Confidence bloomed inside him. For the first time in his life, Hunter felt proud of himself. And it felt good. So good. Hunter didn't think he would ever forget the way he looked down at his uncle. And he wouldn't have done it without his...friends. Hunter had already realized this but looking around at everyone in the room made him realize it even more. He liked being around these people.

He liked how Luz was able to show him kindness when he first came here. How they had bonded over their same interest in wild magic. Hunter might even say he saw her as a sister.

He felt comfortable around Eda, which was still such a surprise to him. The woman he had once been trying to hunt was now there for him when he first had nothing. Even King wasn't as rapid as he had once thought.

He loved knowing how there was someone else like him who could relate to what he had gone through while being in the system of the Emperor's Coven, Lilith Clawthorne. If anyone knew, it was her.

And he once again felt grateful for everyone who helped to try to get him back. Even the ones he didn't know all too well, like the green-haired twins, the girl with powerful nature powers, and the boy who practically mastered the art of illusions. Hell, he was even grateful to Hooty.

Gus jumped up onto the table with his hands on his hips, joining his friend, "I say this definitely calls for some celebration!" He drew a circle in the air with his magic and illusions of streamers appeared on the walls and balloons scattered across the floor. Eda clapped her hands together and stood up.

"Hell yeah!" She took out one of her crystal balls sitting on the bookshelf counter and turned it on. She swiped left and jazz music started to play out of it. Lights were emitting out of it like a disco ball. She set it on the table and headed towards the kitchen, "I'll get some food and some apple blood."

"Eda! These are children!" Lilith whipped her head around and scolded her sister.

Eda sighed, "Fine Fine just regular juice...God, you're such a buzzkill." She headed out grudgingly into the kitchen with her sister following behind her. Hunter laughed out loud at the interaction and turned back to look at the others. Luz and Gus were very weirdly dancing together on top of the table with Hooty who was now joining the fun, with Edric and Emira hyping them up. Amity had her hand up to her forehead most likely in second-hand embarrassment or annoyance, with Willow sitting next to her giggling. King then crawled up onto the table and danced with them, wanting to hear the cheers for himself too.

Eda came out of the kitchen, still with a slight scowl on her face as she handed out glasses of juice to everyone. Hunter took a glass and sat down on the couch, relaxing fully. But as soon as he was about to close his eyes he left the couch dip on either side of him.
