Fate opened her mouth to speak, but closed it again after a second of hesitation. She didn't really have a good excuse. She didn't think he'd go that far in the first place.
"I'll tell you why," Entropy continued. "See, you wanted to see how far he'd go. How much he could mess up before correcting him. Personally, I would've done the same thing, if only to cause more chaos. As for why I made Fresh, ah.... I saw the danger before you two did, it seems. I knew someone would have to come along and start curbing Ink's creative tendencies. What better creature to do that than a soulless agent of chaos?"
"Yeah, well, you're 'agent of chaos' is causing more harm than good now," Destiny broke in. "Now get rid of him so we can save our multiverse!"
Entropy smiled unsettlingly, sending chills down his siblings' backs.
"All in due time, dears. I have been working on it for the last few weeks after all, and it is already set in stone what is to happen. My apologies in advance.""The hell is that supposed to mean?!" Destiny snapped, his temper getting dangerously close to bursting. "We have the power to alter any event we want, so what makes you think you can thwart us?!"
Entropy laughed softly and shook his head. "It has nothing to do with you. He has turned his attention to our multiverse, and he is not happy. Not happy with our progress, not happy with the timeline, not happy with anything here, really. But, with a carefully constructed plan, and a little bit of my debonair charm, I managed to get him and his associates to give us another chance. Aren't I just the best brother ever?~"
Destiny and Fate exchanged looks.
"So what? Fate and I could still change your plans, little bro."Entropy rolled his eyes and scoffed.
"Not with this, you can't. They are explicitly awaiting a report on the situation here, and if I come back with a faulty one...."For once, Entropy's urbane mask fell, and his expression turned dark. It was so uncharacteristic, the two older siblings grew concerned. It was left unsaid what would happen, for Entropy disappeared in red and black smoke. Before he did, though, he gave them a final warning.
"Don't mess this up."
... ... ...
Ink quickly raced up to his bedroom with Error still in his hold. He involuntarily shivered as he felt the warm blood seep through his clothes. He's really gonna have to wash these clothes once he fixes Error up. He placed the glitchy skeleton onto his bed gently, taking a shaky breath as his eyelights lingered on the torn and bleeding stems that were once Error's limbs.
Ink shook his head and looked away. Ok, time to find Dream. Surely he can fix this! He's the best healer in the multiverse! Ink looked back at Error, tentatively putting a hand the glitchy skeleton's cheekbone. He was cold as ice, and Ink couldn't stop the tears from forming. How could he have allowed this to happen? Error probably didn't want to go back to destroying, but Fresh probably threatened him, somehow.
He thought back to last month. They had had a sleepover at Nightmare's castle, and Error had claimed Fresh found a way in. The next few days, he was tense and nervous, and when the sleepover finally ended, he'd left to find Sci. Ink lowered his eyelights a bit. That's strange. He hasn't even heard from Sci in the last month. Heh, must be busy with Red, he guessed.
Ink stood up. Alright, now he really is gonna go find Dream. He opened a portal to UnderSwap, hoping the positive guardian was just hanging out with Blueberry. Before he went in, he took a glance at Error. The glitchy skeleton was still sleeping peacefully, and Ink nodded in satisfaction.
'I will so murder that parasite,' he thought, running through the portal.
He failed to notice another portal open right in his own bedroom.
