"Ahhh!"
(Y/n) and Sesshomaru were the first to quickly open their eyes and go on high alert, (Y/n)'s hand gripping at Naraku's to wake him up. 'Still a deep sleeper' she couldn't help but think to herself.
It only took a second for her eyes to widden as she finally recongnized the earlier scream and looked down to see Rin gripping onto Sesshomaru for dear life, fear dancing in her eyes.
Naraku's eyes finally opened slightly, blinking a couple times before he looked over to his mate who nodded over to the girl. Once his red eyes made contact with hers she yelped again, grip visibly tightening on Sesshy's mokomoko. He moved away quickly in fear of scaring her more, (Y/n) moving with him as a reassurence.
"L- Lord Sesshomaru-?"
"It's alright, Rin. This is not the same man who kidnapped you.. " He explained briefly, causing the girl to relax if only slightly.
"Lady (Y/n)?"
She smiled hearing her name, as she sleepily leaned her head back against Naraku's shoulder tiredly. Demons nor Angels needed sleep, but she adored it either way and it helped keep her stamina high when she faught. Right now she'd been sleeping the best she had in a while and just couldn't help but feel tired still.
"Rin.. I introduce you to my mate, Naraku. Naraku, this is Rin" she properly introduced with a small smile. "Would you like to hear a small story, little one?"
~
"Ah!"
(Y/n) chuckled, watching as the little one tackled Naraku in a both forgiving and apologetic hug of sorts.
"I'm sorry for your curse, Mister Naraku. Is there any way to fix it?" she asked, looking over her shoulder towards her lord.
"I've done my research and nothing's come up yet.. unsurprisingly." He eventually replied, watching Rin as she climbed off and ran back towards him to collapse at his side with a curious grin.
"I want to help!"
(Y/n)'s heart warmed along with Naraku's as they watched her determined sweet gaze sweep them as she said the words.
"Actually.." (Y/n) remembered, "Kikyo knows something about this.. in a way you could say, I guess."
"Like what?" Naraku questioned,
"She knows of the dark forest this curse of ours originates from along with a built shrine for your father.." she started, closing her eyes trying to remember the brief arguement she'd had to witness to gain such information. "She was arguing with a powerful witch about it. The witch was talking about destorying the shrine completely and placing a band on the dark energy surrounding the area belonging to the Kurai of Hatred. Kikyo quickly denied her of doing such a thing at the moment and told her to wait until our curse was broken."
That's why..
Why she took protecting her as serious as she did protecting Kagome. The woman might have seemed different from her previous self, but she'd always be a kind soul deep down who cared for those around her. Offering mercy and help to where she could. (Y/n) never knew what she did to deserve the woman's support in the breaking of her curse. It might have been because of their faded copy of a bond that connected them as familliar and mistress. Or possibly the fact that their stories were, in a way, similar. If only a little.
"So the shrine is a possible key to breaking this endless cycle..?" Naraku asked, almost in disabelief.
She could sense it though, the overwhelming relief and hope to such a possibility. She gave a soft nod.
