Rin's grin quickly grew to the possibility. The fact that this man who they'd been hunting as an enemy was now a friend in need of their help was something the little pure hearted girl ignored. Seeing the look on (Y/n)'s face told her enough that this man was important to her, as well as Sesshomaru she noticed in surprise as well.
"But the question is the same.. How?"
Curse Sesshomaru and his logical ways of thinking.
"Aren't their Shrine Gardians or something. Maybe they could help?" Rin tried, using her memories from past adventures to help her think.
The spider queen could only shrug unhelpfully.
"I think, Kikyo will have to be our guide if she decides to give us her aid." Naraku thought aloud to himself, nodding to the suggestion. "Hopefully.. I have to offer my apologies to her as well, so I can be the one to ask. Alone. She and Inuyasha are the ones I hurt most."
He stood with that thought in mind, looking to (Y/n) who gave a nod of understanding, snapping her fingers and turning him to dust.
~
He reformed right before the Lady Kikyo, the lady his human self from this round had fallen for.
"M'Lady.." he nodded, respectfully as her eyes widened in slight shock upon seeing soft red eyes instead of the usual cruel sneer.
"...Naraku? Wha-" than she finally realized, seeing the once dull chain that came from his chest glowing a bright white and nodding to herself as she saw. "Congratulations.."
He nodded, summoning the jewel that had started most of this to his hand. Incomplete still. Darkness swirling in the center of pink.
"I am here to apologize for my actions towards you in both past and present. As well as wish to give you this. Something that should've never left your presence as its guardian. Something that should have never been stolen by the likes of me." He took a breath finally before letting the stone disappear. "But I know you were glad once that responsibility was finally taken from you to give you freedom. Before coming here I asked (Y/n) to send me to a trust worthy place for safe keeping. I've hidden it deep under a waterfall. One guarded by the strongest of illusions to block off its pull to power hungry creatures completely."
Slowly, she nodded. Feeling almost lightheaded in her happiness and relief to the thought of the jewel -even if it wasn't complete- out of the hands of anyone and all dangers along with the fact that this meant it's manipulation was under seal as well.
"I accept your apology." she said, offering the smallest of smiles before she looked over the village she had decided to settle at for the time being. "And give a thank you in return.."
He bowed his head to this, before looking up to ask a question he hoped recieved a positive answer.
"I've come for another reas-"
"Of course I'll lead you two to it. With locking away the Jewel you've given me freedom and peace. As much as I dislike admitting it, (Y/n) has done a lot for me in her days as my protector as well. I've accepted your apology for this and I will give my aid for it as well." she said, still looking over the village as kids laughed and ran about the river near them suddenly. "When do we leave?"
~ A WEEK LATER
"Couldn't we have teleported here?" Rin asked, having finally made it to the same village that had always resided outside the dark forest for some odd reason.
(Y/n) shook her head, looking over to the old run down shrine that had been her cage for a good decade.
"It's sacred ground. Teleportation is considered a cheat and a demons talent as angels fly instead of using tricks. This village holds strong beliefs considering angels and devils as well as gods of purity. Traveling by flight and foot were our best options." She explained, taking her eyes away from the rotting wood to look ahead of them.
