Counting beats clearly in my head, I moved my body as naturally as I could to the music. It was late in my work day, the sun already below the horizon that I could see out of the small window of the large group-sized practice room. The drop of the song came, making the movements I was doing slightly more difficult.

Well, everything was more difficult for me in this state. I was double booked for choreography that day.

First, the company's new girl group wanted me to be the one to make the dances for their new debut single. They wanted me to stick to a set of guidelines. Pretty, preppy, girly, the list goes on, never really getting any more interesting.

On the other hand, I had to re-block an entire show worth of dances for the ever-so-incredible BTS. Apparently, one of the higher-ups decided it would be a good idea to change one of the venues to a different stage type entirely. Originally, the stage was a classic outward-curved stage, but the new venue was a runway style. In some places, I even had to change the moves entirely for the flow to work.

Honestly, the only reason I didn't get super mad at first was because all the members of BTS were my close friends. I had joined their team back in late 2015 when they were working on their album 'Wings'. Since I was new, they placed me as an assistant for the choreography of their song 'Awake'. It was plenty of fun getting to know the guys. I was incredibly nervous at first. I mean, these guys were just starting to get big recognition! How could I not freak out at first?

Even with my shyness, they still welcomed me to the team. Since I was head choreographer after the old one had left, I had a lot of time to work with them. We all became a friend group, both in and out of the studio.

Everyone had their own little roles: Namjoon being the leader, Hobi being the mood-lightening bean he is, Yoongi being the one we all had to collectively drag out of bed while on trips, Jin being the chef, Taehyung being the supportive one, Jimin being clumsy and somehow figuring out a way to fall off every chair in existence, and Jungkook and I being the ones that were babied to death. I may be just a year younger, but the others don't seem to see any difference.

Hearing the surrounding silence of the room, I noticed I had closed my eyes through the whole number.

'I'm never gonna get this done at this pace...'

I walked over to the bench against the back wall and took a seat. After catching my breath for a few second, I grabbed my water bottle and took a few sips, then breathed again to calm my heart down. I looked back up to the mirror after collecting myself. My face was drenched in sweat and I was violently shaking. Not taking a break for a long while will do that to you.

'Okay... No more re-blocking today. I should end this off on a good note to chill out.'

Trudging away from the bench and to the music player, I put on an old favorite of mine, 'Mikrokosmos'. Did I always follow exactly to planned moves? No, but I'd always make it work.

I began the count-off in my head, being carefull to keep with the tempo.

Mikrokosmosis about the idea of microcosm, the way of viewing people as their own little world, planets shining brightly in the darkness of space. And even though we're worlds away, we still find each other among the stars.
