It had been almost a week since the funeral, the teachers already knew and understood why I needed to leave for a bit.

Oh course when me and Alivia came back to school we were hit with questions from students to friends, questions ranging from, “Why were you gone?” to “Were you sick?”

We didn’t answer, but we both decided to say that we just had a family trip.

Which was somewhat true. It involved family.

I kept my head low for the entire day.

Only a handful of people knew about...what happened; Sasha, Alex, Angel, the teachers and Iru.

Alastor had no idea what was going on and so he was worried. And he finally shows that at lunch.

I was quietly eating alone at the farthest table.

“Damian…” I look up thinking I’ll see the “happy go lucky” Alastor but instead I'm met with “Hey bud, you alright?” Alastor, and I don’t like it.

His brown, white patched face, is frowning, a pitiful, concerned, frown.

“Y-yeah,” My voice is more hushed than I want it to be, but I'm tired and in pain.

“You okay?” He asks, sliding next to me, looking me in the eyes. His hazel, yellow eyes feeling and looking dull, but beautiful nonetheless.

“I um…,” I look over at him, with my tired eyes.

He stays silent.

“I…”

He reaches for my hand, holding it tight, which I hesitantly allow to happen.

“Damian, please tell me what's wrong.”

I stayed silent this time.

“You look like you haven’t slept in days, you haven’t said a word to anyone, you're quiet, and no offence but you look horrible, so tell me what's going on. I'm worried.” He says leaning closer to me, the warmth of his hand still on mine.

“Alastor…” I take a deep breath. It’s okay.

I tell him everything. The passing out to...the day before she…

“Oh my Irene Damian! Why didn’t you tell me!?” He said louder than I wanted.

“Please be quiet.”

“Sorry.”

I continue, and I tell the worst part.

“She..”

He’s silent, which I don’t like.

“She died.” I finally let those words out, finally accepting and processing that she's gone.

Those stinging, lung aching, burning tears fall and fall.

I feel warm arms wrap around me.

Alastor was hugging me.

I lean into his hug letting the tears go. Not making a single noise.

No one is paying any attention or mind to us.

We sat there for three or so minutes, but it felt like years. He slowly and gently let go of me. His controlled breathing calmed me down. But I also let go. I wiped my burning, puffy red, and tear stained face sniffing.

“T-thank you…” I say horsley.

“You don’t need to apologize…” He said in the most calming voice I think I’ve ever heard.

“How about this…” He suddenly says, making me lift my hanging face up.

“You and I, along with your other friends, go to a park or restaurant.” He says, an adorable and kind side smile on his face.

“Y-yeah that would be great.” giving the kind, half made up smile, back to him.

Lunch ended not long after. I walked to my locker in a better mood than earlier, opening my locker to find a note.

Hey! You never got my number. So here I guess? Text or call me anytime!

-Alastor

His number lying underneath his handwritten name. I added it later because I didn’t have my phone with me today.

I still have the note as I walk into band/music.

“Damian, your back!” Mrs. JJ announces.

Everybody turns to me. Creepy I think as I take my seat, my classmates looking away from me as I do. What’s weird is, Alastors’ sitting next to me not saying a word. Odd…

Class ends and just when I'm halfway to the other side of school I realize I left my notebook, so I sprint back being surprised by what I find other than my notebook.

Alastor singing….
