"Stay in the car, Blaise, or I swear to the druids I will kill you agonizingly slow."
Something tapped my cheek and I groaned, my eyelids fluttering. Suddenly, I jolted upright, panic flooding my mind. Where was I?
My eyes adjusted to the dim lighting just in time to see Jennifer Blake's face only inches away from mine. I yelped, surprised to see her up close and personal, and tried to back away as far as I could from the dark druid. Though I couldn't get as far as I wanted to, for a car door blocked me from the outside world while my arm dangled by a handcuff chained to the safety handle above my head.
And that's when I remembered where I was.
Jennifer had taken the Sheriff and I after our little brawl in the high school.
"Blaise, did you hear what I said?" Jennifer grabbed my face and turned it to face hers. Her nails dug into my cheek. "Do. Not. Leave. Got it?"
"Where's Sheriff Stilinski?" I asked, ignoring her words. "Why am I still alive?"
"The answer to that question is because someone we both knew in the past needs to be killed." She pursed her lips, then turned away from me to get out of the car. "Then again, I've forgotten how ignorant you are nowadays. I wish you would have died for good when I killed you in England." Before she shut the door, she muttered, "Don't do anything stupid. I'll be back."
Then she was gone.
Once she walked through the doors to the house we sat in front of, I surveyed my surroundings for a way out.
The catch was that Jennifer couldn't hear me coming, or else I would surely face her wrath. The noise of the thunder outside might have covered the sound of my steps, but it was too risky. And I didn't know if I was strong enough to fight against the Darach again just yet.
As I searched for another, quieter, way to follow Miss Blake, my eyes lingered on the quaint house in front of me. After a few moments of staring, I realized it wasn't a house at all, but a loft.
Derek's loft.
"Shit," I muttered. There was no way Jennifer was going to attack Derek's pack while I just silently stood by. No way.
I easily snapped the cuff off of the safety handle above me, freeing my right wrist. With one push against the window, the car door gave way and broke off, skidding across the cement with a sickening screeching sound.
"Well," I sighed, "there goes being subtle." I shrugged, smiling to myself as I started to walk towards the front door. "Oh well. The bitch needs a new car anyway."

Even though Jennifer probably already knew that I was out, I stayed silent walking to the loft, listening into the conversation that was going on.
"So," one voice said. It was Jennifer's. "They told you it was me? That I'm the one taking people?"
They? As I strained my ears, I sensed that there were not only two people in the room, but four.
"We told him that you're the one killing people," another said. My eyes grew wide as I realized the voice was Scott. No no no he can't be here. Not with Jennifer still needing two more sacrifices.
"Oh! That's right," Jennifer laughed. I leaned up against the loft door so I could hear them better while still staying hidden. "Committing human sacrifices while cutting their throats. I probably do it on my lunch hour so I can get back to teaching high school English the rest of the day, don't I?"
