GOING OUT
[1×03]IF SHE WENT ANOTHER DAY WITHOUT ANYTHING TO DO, AYLA HALE WAS GOING TO LOSE HER MIND. She had managed to pull Netflix up on her phone at least, but she could only binge Friends so many times.
She needed something else to do other than stare at a screen, so she started exploring the old house. She found some old journals. There had been about a hundred back at Hale House when she was a kid. Most of them had been chronicling different supernatural creatures. This one, however, was chronicling the life of Elijah Mikaelson.
"'August 1359. I have noticed a difference in my siblings. Our bond strains beneath the pressure of our life as vampires. Each day removes them further from the humanity we once possessed. My sweet sister, Rebekah, has grown quite indifferent to brutality. However, the true problem remains my brother, Niklaus. He continues to hide his loneliness with cruelty. Still, I cling to the hope that I, as their eldest brother, can lead them down the correct path, a path charged with the power of a family united. For if I fail, our family's legacy will end in darkness,'" Ayla read.
She frowned, closing the journal. She didn't need anyone to tell her how brutal the two Originals could be. She sighed, standing up. She walked down the hall to where she could hear Klaus and Rebekah talking.
"I cannot believe you disposed of those vampires without me. You know how I love to set things on fire," she heard Rebekah complaining.
"Was I supposed to leave them in the front yard to rot? Besides, they were my responsibility. They attacked the helpless pregnant girl who's carrying my children," Klaus replied.
"Oh, I am so moved by your new-found sense of fatherly duties towards the werewolf carrying your hybrid buns in her oven," Rebekah told him.
Ayla walked into the doorway. "The werewolf would like to know what the plan is," she announced, drawing their attention.
"Well, that depends what plan you mean, love- my plan for global domination, or Rebekah's plan to find love in a cruel, cruel world?" Klaus asked her.
Rebekah snatched a pencil up, and threw it at her brother's face with vampire speed. Klaus easily caught it before the pencil could impale itself in his face.
Ayla rolled her eyes at the siblings. "I meant the plan to rescue Elijah. You know, the good brother? The one who is now in the possession of your mortal enemy after you stabbed him in the back?" she asked.
"In the front, if we're being specific," Klaus clarified, smirking at her.
Ayla sent him a look. "Are you forgetting that he's basically the only reason the witches didn't kill me and our children? You told me that you were going to try to get him back after you betrayed him. So is there a plan, or what?" she wondered.
Klaus took a seat in the nearby chair. "Okay. Well, firstly, Marcel is not my mortal enemy- he's my friend. Albeit one who is unaware that I'm trying to sabotage his hold over the supernatural community of the French Quarter, but a friend nonetheless. And secondly, I daggered Elijah in order to gain Marcel's trust. If I had known he would place my brother in the hands of a particularly nasty teenage witch, I certainly would have weighed my options a bit differently," he told her, before turning to Rebekah. "And thirdly, sister, please."
"And thirdly, the plan, as you have demanded, is for Niklaus to simply ask Marcel for Elijah back," Rebekah told her.
Ayla frowned at them. "That's... that's not the whole plan, is it?" she asked.
