Summary:
Hanagaki Takemichi, six years old, is always hungry, tired, and covered in bruises, but he's good at rolling with the punches. He doesn't mind. He would endure it all for his uncle who took him in as a baby when no one else would.
One day he's digging through the trash when he meets Sano Sasaki, owner of the legendary Sano Dojo, and gets invited for food.
Sasaki sees the boy's skinny wrists and bruised skin and can't help but get involved.
