Return to Isla Nublar

After the events on Isla Nublar and the death of the Indominus Rex, Maya had left the island on a ferry with her family and Owen. Her aunt Claire had to stay behind and answer some questions about what had gone down. When the ferry docked in port on the mainland, Maya had chosen to part with Owen temporarily. The young woman was not ready to say goodbye to her family and Owen thankfully understood that. Owen gave Maya a kiss and told her to let him know when she was ready before giving her a brief kiss and said goodbye.

For a few months, Maya stayed at home. During that time, she helped Zach through his break-up, helped Gray with his nightmares regarding the Jurassic World incident and reassured her adoptive paretns that she was coping just fine regarding everything. Even though she wasn't quite ready to move in with Owen just yet, she continued to keep in constant contact with him. He had moved somewhere in Northern California and was in the process of clearing out a secluded area in some woods for them. He didn't give her much details, wanting to keep it a surprise for when she was ready to join him. The two of them talked pretty much everyday except for once a month. Those days, Maya took some personal time during the day before allowing herself to shift at dusk.

It was also during those few months that Maya had begun to pack up her life with the Mitchell family to start a new one with Owen. When she was completely packed and was sure that her brothers would be alright without her, Maya called Owen and told him that she was ready to move in with him. When he showed up a day and a half later, he loaded up her belongings into the bed of his truck while Maya said goodbye to her family. Once all was said and done, Maya joined Owen in his truck and the two of them started a new chapter in their lives together.
