Y/n has always been a part of the encanto village, ever since she was left on a local families doorstep as a baby. Several families had the joy of taking care of her in turns whilst she grew up.
Today she was the fine age of 5 staying with the Juliono's, who of course she didn't know but enjoyed the company of regardless. Tonight was going to be the gift ceremony of the Madrigals second youngest grandchild Camilo.
Everyone in the town was on the edge of their seats, after all this was the gift ceremony where the casita would select a companion for the Madrigals and Camilo himself.Y/n's stand-in mum was getting her ready for tonight, she was wearing a red dress with yellow ribbon going around the waist and her hair was half up half down, tied up with a red ribbon.
At the gift giving
They arrived slightly late so they joined with the rest of the crowd at the top of the stairs. "When our little camilo opens his door," The elderly woman gestured to the young boy eagerly yet nervously standing by his door, with another door waiting for its new owner to claim it right by him. "our trusted casita will choose a young one to join us in our beautiful home, where her and camilo will have a special companionship." As she nodded to camilo it felt as though the whole towns breath had hitched as they watched camilo turn his handle. At first nothing.
But then a soft breeze sifted gently through y/n's hair and the tiles she stood upon started drifting her to the entrance of the other door. She looked up at the abuela in slight confusion only to receive a nod with a smile. The guests remained silent excusing the few gasps, awaiting what would happen next. The young girl looked to the boy standing opposite her. he took his small hand off the handle to give her a gentle wave, when he started almost preparing for a sneeze?
but instead if a sneeze he shook his head and jumped slightly. On landing he was an exact replica of y/n. He gasped patting himself down in shock, which almost immediately faded into excitement, as he continued to transform into his older sister and many of the other guests before going back to himself as they all cheered so loud that his sister dolores had to cover her sensitive ears. Y/n enjoyed it equally as she stood there giggling at the boy with her hands over her mouth.Once the cheering had faded and camilo had finished his games the guests all looked to y/n expectantly.
The girl carefully took hold of her door handle and twisted. The door created its signature artwork on the front which had a y/n with a candle, book and flower floating around her head.
The door opened and the first object she saw was a rose in a vase. She reached out for it and the rose started drifting towards her. She gasped and it dropped. She tried reaching out for it again but nothing happened. come to me. she thought and the rose floated into her hands. The town cheered and clapped as the madrigals squealed and whooped for the two kids. Camilo jumped up and down clapping, "do me! do me!" He begged.
Y/n smiled and angled her hands towards him before swishing them up. The boy began floating, only giggling more as y/n made him go over peoples heads and fly around the ceiling before of course setting him back down.
"Our Casita has decided!" Abuela smiled, "Young y/n is to be with us in this house and use her gift for good amongst this town." Y/n nodded proudly at Abuela before locking eyes back with the grinning boy.A/N
