"Uhm... I love your crown! It looks wonderful! Where did you get it?" Ghostbur's attitude shifted and he was smiling again.
"Thank you. Sam gave it to me. I never take it off." You reached for the crown and traced one of the red gems on the side.
"Oh, Sam! I ran into him a little bit ago."
"What? Where?" You felt your pulse skip a beat.
"Before I followed the bunny. He asked about you." Ghostbur continued. "He said something about the prison and you escaping with Quackity. Why were you in prison? I thought I helped raise you better than that..."
"Wil- Ghostbur, I will explain everything, but I need to know what Sam said. Is he coming here? Does he know I'm here?" You began to panic as you thought back to the last few words Sam said to you.
"Sam didn't say anything about coming to this place. He did ask if I knew where you were, which I answered with my house because that's the last place I saw you..." Ghostbur's voice trailed off as his mind went somewhere else.
"I haven't been to your house since you lost your last life, Ghostbur. That was a long time ago." You pulled Ghostbur into another hug in hopes to make you both feel better.
You both were silent for a few minutes until he gave you something.
"Oh! I have something for you!" Ghostbur reached into his pocket and pulled out something dark in color. "Here, have some blue."
You took the material and thanked him for it. "I don't know what blue is."
"It helps to make you happy. It takes all the sadness out." Ghostbur smiled with his response. You thanked him once more for the gift.
"I missed you so much. You have no idea..." You began to say, but started to tear up again. You quickly thought back to the memories you had with Wilbur.
Ghostbur didn't say anything back, but you knew he understood what you were saying.
"I need to get back to L'Manberg." He said, breaking the silence once more. "There are some things I need to take care of."
"What? But Wilbur, there's so much we need to talk about!" You practically begged him to stay.
"Ghostbur..." He whispered, looking away down at the ground.
"Ghostbur, I want to talk! I want to talk about your last life. I want to talk about the prison. I want to talk about so much! Please! I just got you back!" You weakly clung onto the sleeve of his sweater as tears ran down your face.
"Y/n, I don't want to talk right now. Please don't make me." He said is almost a whisper, his skin turning a lighter shade.
"Please, promise me you'll come back. Promise me that I'll see you again."
"I promise, y/n, I promise."
You hugged him once more before he started his trip back to the Dream SMP community. Whether he was actually going back to what is left of L'Manberg or not was beyond your knowledge.
You followed Ghostbur to the edge of Las Nevadas and stopped at the flashing sign. Ghostbur continued his walk.
You starred off into the distance as Ghostbur's silhouette disappeared in the sand-filled horizon. After collecting yourself, you walked over to the small garden in front of the casino to relax.
Heartache filled your chest as you sat on a small wooden bench surrounded by colorful tulips. You felt overwhelmed thinking about how your brother is back, but not quite himself.
You watched the fish swim around in the nearby pond. They were free, yet still trapped in the solid walls of the water. The fish don't know anything else but the enclosure. They reminded you of the walls of the prison.
You watched for a while until you noticed a small, red and white reflection in the water. You quickly looked up to see another familiar face.
"Tommy?" You made your way out of the garden and met him in from of the glowing fountains.
"Y/n? How are the fuck are you out of the prison?" He drew his sword and took a step back.
You put your hands out in front of you to show him you didn't mean any harm. "Please don't tell anyone"
"Why should I listen to you!"
"Because, Tommy," You took a few step toward him, "I'm sorry... for everything. Truly, I am."
"Why should I believe you? You tried to kill me." Tommy switched to his axe and held it up.
"I know, and I'm sorry about that. Dream and I are no longer associated with each other. He tried to kill me in the prison." You gestured to your wound that he had made fun of before.
"Dream did that?" Tommy lowered his axe and rested it against the ground.
"Yeah, he did."
"Why?"
"Because I didn't invite him to my birthday party. I don't fucking know! We had fought a few days before and the second time he did this." You threw your arms in the air, then crossed them in front of you.
"I still don't know if I can trust you..." Tommy looked at the ground and then back up to you.
"You don't have to trust me. I just need to be able to trust that you won't tell anyone that I'm out of the prison."
"I won't tell anyone if you can tell me if you've seen Ghostbur recently. He wondered off earlier today and I can't find him." Tommy shifted his weight as he spoke about Ghostbur. "I've looked everywhere. Please tell me you've seen him."
A lump formed in your throat.
"Yeah, he came by not too long ago. We talked a bit. He said he had some unfinished business in L'Manberg." You could feel the pressure of tears build behind your eyes.
"That's great, thank you..." Tommy quickly turned and began running toward the desert.
"Tommy! Wait!" You ran after him. He stopped and turned back around. "Please, don't tell anyone."
"Y/n, we have a connection through Wilbur. When it came to war, you both chose different paths, but that doesn't mean I hate you. Wilbur is like a brother to me, but I don't know if you'll ever be my sister." Tommy took another step into the sand. "I won't tell much of what has happened, but Philza will be hearing about this."
Before you could think of anything to say, Tommy left your sight. You were left in the sand hoping Tommy would keep a secret. Even if he did tell Philza, you wished they would simply leave you alone.
You felt too weak to do much of anything the rest of the day. You were worried sick about Ghostbur and the conversation you had with Tommy. All you felt like doing was laying in your bed.
You watched the sunset out of your window. You could see the back of the sign that read Welcome to Las Nevadas and its lights flashed brighter with every second that passed. The sun was halfway below the horizon as Quackity and his horse's silhouettes appeared in the distance.
You climbed out of your bed and went to meet Quackity at the door. After a few minutes, Quackity put his horse back into the stable and came into the house.
"How was your day?" You asked with a smile. Then you noticed spots of blood covering his neck and the side of his face. "Did you visit Dream..."
"Yeah, how'd you know?" Quackity touched the side of his face then looked at the small amount of blood on his fingers. "I guess it was kind of obvious."
"What else did you do today?" You tried changing the subject because you didn't want to think of Quackity's visit with Dream.
"Let me get cleaned up. Then, we can talk over dinner." Quackity leaned his sword against the wall. The carving in the handle read "Warden's Will."
"Sounds good..."
