"Gray? Are you going to keep staring off into space or do you want to have your first kiss?" I nearly choked as Stephen nonchalantly made the comment. Was he actually proposing that we...

Our classmates would think that this was wrong.

Who cares what our classmates think? 

Stephen's loving gaze was worth a lifetime of bullying.

So much for that. They didn't even come for me. I'm not the one who was bullied. I don't even have Stephen's loving gaze anymore.

Stephen leaned in, confident yet hesitant at the same time, never breaking eye contact to search for the slightest hint of refusal or sign that said stop. He smiled when he didn't see anything and closed the gap between us.

I didn't know how to react. I was new to this. I may have confessed first, but I just wanted to stop being bothered by the repressed feelings...

I closed my eyes, it seemed more fitting. When Stephen's tongue accidentally brushed mine, both of us let out little gasps. He pulled away instantly, blushing fiercely.

"I-I-I'm so sorry about that it was an accident are you uncomfortable should we stop?" His question came in one breath, his tone apologetic and panicky. I was confused. I thought kisses always led to...uh, tongues?

"It's okay, I swear! I was just surprised, we don't have to stop," I replied, equally fast and discomposed. The second he heard it, he pulled us together again, wanting to get back to what we started.

"You've always been adorable in my view, did you know that?" Stephen asked me, drawing me into an embrace right as his lips met my cheek. Now I had to be blushing even harder than he was. I mean, how could he say that with no embarrassment? 

We kissed again, and this time the whole...tongue thing went into effect. I didn't know what to do with myself, so I just opened my mouth. All those romance books say that's what you're supposed to do, anyways. 

This feels like a dream...

It was as good as one. I can't relive it in real life anymore.

-End of Flashback-

I was out of breath from talking so much. I never told anyone about how deep our relationship went. And technically, still no one knew other than Stephen and I.

"Did you hear all of that, Stephen? That 'he' was you. You're Stephen, you're my first kiss, my first everything," I mumbled to the boy in a coma. He may have looked deathly pale, his red hair shaggy(yeah, hair still grows during comas), and he might have sort of, in a weird way, aged in that hospital bed...but he was still my Stephen.

The doctor said reciting our moments together might do something. He said coma patients can hear what you say sometimes. I trusted in that. And what if he could hear but no one was talking? Me and Stephen's mom constantly visited him, updating him, asking him to open his eyes soon, reminding him of past events. 

I'll do this until he wakes up. I'm not going to give Stephen up. 

"Stephen Ahn...can you hear me? Do you remember me?" I whispered one last time. I rubbed the back of his hand with my thumb before exiting the room. I can't stay with him for too long. I still have to move on. But I can try to bring Stephen with me occasionally...right?

I can hear you...Gray Yeon. I remember. Sorry for not waking up. One day...

We'll be happy again. But if not...keep moving on. Find someone else's hands that cup your cheeks and someone else's eyes that glow with adoration when they look at your violet gaze. And I'll be with you all the way.

And if I wake up...I'm not brave enough to watch you leave. It's hypocritical since I left you, right? But I want you. I want to kiss you again and embrace you and snuggle together.
