( ? ) Olivia McKay was a girl who liked to please everyone. She wore clothes she thought others would like, did things (within her own morals) she thought others would appreciate. She was a people pleaser, she liked t...
Olivia sat on top of Nick's bed, her legs crossed and head rested on her hand, deep in thought. Her eyes scanned the papers below her, the words she'd written down over two months ago stared her in the eye, almost tau ting her.
He's doing the same things with her!!
Her eyes scanned the sentence over and over again, her mind wandering back to the arcade, and the cafe. "I wonder if Tyler ever thinks of me." Olivia wondered out loud, she wasn't really talking to anyone but herself. She was curious how Tyler could do the same exact things with Charlotte and not think a second about doing them with her.
"Olivia, don't start thinking like that," Christina said, her eyes softening as she caught her best friend's gaze. Olivia almost laughed, she didn't mean it like that, nothing like that. "No, I mean-" Olivia let out a frustrated sigh, flailing her arms about before continuing. "He does the exact same things with Charlotte that he did with me, I just find it hard to believe that he wouldn't think of me, y'know?"
Olivia glanced up at her best friend and older brother, "Like even for a split second, he goes, 'wait I did this exact thing with Olivia like three months ago,' like maybe he gets a few seconds of deja vu?" The brunette's eyes widen at her words, she scrambled off her brother's bed and towards the desk he sat at. Nick and Christina both raised their eyebrows in question as Olivia sloppily wrote something down. Once she was done, she slid the notebook over for the two others to see.
Do you get deja vu when she's with you?
"That could be good," Nick said, scrolling through his laptop for a certain tune. He let an excited 'ha!' out when he finally found it. "Listen listen listen!" He ordered the two girls, tapping play and letting the sound fill the room. The sound of a light airy melody filled Olivia's ears, and the more she listened the more she fell in love with it. It was different, the sound wasn't a piano, or guitar, or a xylophone. It almost sounded like it was from a kids toy, just a small, simple, silly sound that children would be amused by. "I love that Nick, how'd you make that!?" The boy grinned, selecting the melody and dragging it into a blank sound sheet. "I made it from our old kid's pianos, it was for an assignment a while ago." "It's literally perfect!"

Olivia, Christina, and Nick had been in Nick's room for a solid two hours now, singing and creating melodies to fit with the track. The three were in the middle of finishing the first verse when Olivia's phone rang, a photo of Dylan with his eyes crossed and tongue stuck out flashed across her screen. "It's Dylan." She said, standing up to accept the call, but not before looking at the other two. "Yeah, go talk to your boyyy" Nick teased, his eyebrows wiggling as he switched his gaze between Olivia and Christina. Christina covered up her laugh with her hand as Olivia swatted her brother's head.
"Hey Dylan!" The girl instantly smiled as she heard the laugh of said boy. His laugh cut off though as he started to speak, "Wait, did you actually call her!" Olivias eyebrows furrowed as the boy began to call for Tyler, his voice sounding further away. "Heyyyyyy Olivia!" Tyler posey's voice was cutting in and out as he greeted the girl, because of Dylan chasing him. "Hi Tyler." Olivia giggled, "What's up?" Olivia could hear the faint voice of Dylan cussing out his best friend, but that only made her giggle even more. "Well Dylan here misses you sooooooooo much!" The older boy chimes. "Well, why isn't Dylan telling me himself?"
There was a pause and a shuffling heard through the phone before Dylan greeted the girl sheepishly. "Hi Livy." The girl let out another giggle, Dylan's cheeks reddening as a smile pulled onto his face. "Hi Dyl, what was this about missing me?" Olivia made her way into her room, flipping onto her bed and staring at her ceiling as Dylan responded. "I just miss you a lot, is that so bad?" Olivia didn't think her grin could get any bigger. "Well if it makes you feel any better, I miss you a lot too." "I would be offended if you didn't Livy." She laughed at the boy, her eyes becoming glossy as she finally came to the realization. "I always miss you Dylan."
A sigh came through from the other side of the phone, Olivia fiddling with her pant strings as she blinked back tears. "I don't think you understand how much I miss you Livy, god I hate that I'm so far away from you right now." Olivia softly smiled, but decided to switch the topic, she didn't want this to be a cry fest (she's had enough of those). "How's filming going?" "Pretty slow actually."
The girl was about to respond when her mother entered her room, "Olivia- oh I didn't know you were on the phone." "It's ok mama it's Dylan. Say hi to mom dylan!" Olivia called, putting her phone on speaker and allowing Dylan to say hello. "Hey mom!" "Hi Dylan! So nice to hear from you, but I'm sorry I need to talk to Olivia." The older woman frowned, hating to take Olivia's time with Dylan away, she knew how much he helped Olivia. "No worries mama mckay! I'll see you guys in a couple weeks."
Olivia and Dylan exchanged goodbyes quickly and Olivia turned her attention back to her mother. "What's up?" The woman smiled a guilty smile as she sat onto Olivia's bed. The girl knew exactly what was coming, and she knew it would come eventually, but it felt like her parents had only been back for a couple days—not a whole month. "Dad and I got a call to Ethiopia today." Her mother spoke, tucking a strand of Olivia's hair behind her ear. "How long?" Her mother sighed, and at her reaction tears began to gloss her eyes. "Three months at least, we're not entirely sure how long. Honey, I'm sorry we're leaving again, but you know that your father and I love both you and Nick so much."
The girl nodded her head, of course she knew that. Her parents loved her, and she loved them equally as much, she just wished she had more time with them is all. "When are you leaving?" The girls voice was quiet as she spoke, her eyes casted downwards to her bedsheets. "The day after tomorrow." And finally, the tears fell. Olivia hated how much this effected her, her parents were helping other people who needed it. And to want her parents to stay with her and not go to help them made her feel so selfish. "Sweetheart, come here." Her mother pulled Olivia into a hug, squeezing her tight.
"I know this is all so sudden and abrupt, so dad and I thought it would be a good idea to get your mind off of everything. How about you go see Dylan, hm?" Olivias eyes widen at the suggestion, her sniffling coming to a stop as she looked to her mother. "Really?" Julie smiled, "Of course, we got your tickets booked already. Nick and Christina are coming along if that's alright?" The girl smiled large, engulfing her mother in another hug. "Of course it is!" And even though her parents were leaving again, she was happy, because she was going to see her Dylan in less than two days.
