Looking at the time, I could now see why Vee might be tired. I should have told her that she could close the blinds in my room if she needed to. I don't know how well she can sleep with the sunlight coming through the window... Fine, hopefully. Would she even choose to sleep in my room though? If she slept on the couch, she wouldn't really have to worry about closing any blinds.
I sighed, putting my phone back into my pocket. I need to stop worrying. Looking out the window, I could see the lights of the LAX Airport. The lights are probably my favorite part. It just looks cool, I guess.
When the car came to a complete stop, I paid and thanked the Uber driver before I got out of the vehicle. I looked at the entrance to the airport, biting the inside of my cheek. What if the next flight home wasn't for another week?
No. Don't say that. Don't even think it. There will be a flight for me to get onto tonight. I just have to believe that there will be and not worry about getting my hopes up.
I walked into the airport, going straight to the ticket counter. I looked at the person working at the counter. "Hi," I mumbled. "Um. Could I possibly get a ticket for- for the soonest flight to London? Please. And thank you."
They looked back at me for a moment, letting me finish speaking before they looked at their little computer thingy. I rocked back and forth on my feet, waiting impatiently to hear what they had to say about the soonest ticket.
"There's one, yeah. Boarding starts in thirty-some minutes... Takes off in about an hour," they shrugged. "Is that okay?"
"Yes! Yes, that's perfect," I chuckled. "I'll take a ticket for that one, please. Thank you so much."
They nodded and took me through the process of buying the ticket. As I went to find the gate for my flight, I pulled out my phone once again to update Vee.
wilbur
