"hey, soobs."

"i'm busy; don't talk to me."

yeonjun slumped against his empty desk, opposite soobin's with graphing papers under a cute angel paperweight. it's a little over five minutes since yeonjun came back from a meeting with the student council members, and he's already fuzzing about his story entry for the literary club again—soobin, however, is obviously too occupied to contribute to the brainstorming, an activity for his general mathematics class is due in two hours.

"fine," yeonjun pouts, he didn't want to bother soobin further.

he looks to his other side, where soobin was not, and almost jumped when he discovers two glimmering eyes already darting at him. they were wide, almost innocent, but the grinch-smile didn't seem too friendly for yeonjun's liking.

"hyung!"

that's still something yeonjun is getting used to.

"oh, hey, kai," yeonjun greeted. he doesn't see taehyun and beomgyu anywhere.

"are you writing another note for taehyun?" kai gestured the pen and paper on yeonjun's desk, where he was scribbling plot ideas. yeonjun was red in a matter of seconds.

of course taehyun would let kai and beomgyu know about the silly notes. yeonjun expected that already—but he was not prepared to address that like this. so nonchalant, so blunt.

yeonjun was so easy to be flustered whenever it's about taehyun. "not... really."

"i see," kai nodded. "you're always so sweet, hyung. i hope things go well between the two of you."

"do you think it will?"

"who knows? taehyun doesn't stop you from sending him letters, and it seems like he's starting to open up little by little."

yeonjun played with the skin of his cheek gently. he doesn't know what to say. "oh."

"i just hope he won't take too long, because waiting has its limits, doesn't it?"

"i'm pretty sure i can wait for as long as he needs," yeonjun meant every word.

kai stands up. it just dawned on yeonjun that kai's department was nowhere near this area, but he's talking to yeonjun now all alone. "beomgyu hyung was right. you're pretty cool."

"uh, thanks," yeonjun murmured as kai walked out the room.

he's having a hard time to process what just happened.

yeonjun spasms in excitement. "isn't that a good thing?"
