"Oi slut!" Hollered a well-known female student, throwing an empty coke can at your head.

You avoided eye contact and tried to walk away. "Don't ignore my girlfriend you moron." Another voice called to you, only this time it sounded deeper.

Your body froze and your shoulders stiffened. You reluctantly turned around to see two pairs of eyes looking at you up and down.

His white hair shimmered in the artificial lighting of the hallways, his lips morphed into a nasty smirk.

"You look pitiful, like always."

You smiled brightly at him. "Thank you!" The female scowled, unsatisfied with your response to her boyfriend's remark.

"Are you flirting with my man?!" The girl screeched, making you flinch, but your smile never faulted. "Of course not, Koko-san! I would never do such a thing."

It seemed as though your cheerful tone and bright smile pissed Koko off even more, so she took her arm away from Killua's waist and placed her hands on your shoulders, shoving you over.

Killua laughed and pointed as Koko slapped your face, receiving a small yelp from you and a satisfying crack from the palm of her hand.

She flicked her long, straight red hair over her shoulder and scoffed.

"Still alive today? Didn't I tell you to end it?" Your smiled wider and rose from your spot on the ground. "I'm still alive! Pushing through still!"

Killua rolled his blue eyes and slithered his muscular arms around Koko's slim waist. You didn't let it show, but your heart cracked at the sight.

You just kept smiling...

Like your parents always told you so.

"Let's go babe, she's a waste of time this morning, we'll see her again in second period." Koko laughed and turned around in his arms, pulling his collar and smashing her lips on his, moaning softly to let you know what they were doing.

The bell rang out and everyone was already in their classrooms.

Your smile slowly faded and you cried silently, your eyes stung with the never-ending tears that poured down your cheeks.

Killua had always been this way, cruel, petty, horrible. He was only like this to you, not anyone else. You didn't understand why he was like this, but that didn't stop your heart being captured by him.
