One shots

"Cyrah, Fen, this is Mera, and Catalin. They're going to be staying with us for a little while." Linh said.

Cyrah looked at Mera and Catalin. She seemed to understand.

"Mom, is this because of work?" Cyrah asked quietly.

"Yes, sweetie." Linh whispered sadly. "Unfortunately, their parents passed away because of the Neverseen."

"Like Gran Cyrah, and Grandpa Prentice?" Cyrah's eyes were wide.

"Yes. Like your Gran and Grandpa."

Linh watched her daughter and son walk over to Mera and Catalin. Cyrah almost instantly became friends with the two girls.

They were close in age so it made sense.

Linh smiled. She was glad her kids were getting along with the sisters.

"I'll leave you all to get to know each other." Linh said, before leaving the room.

She joined her husband by the doorframe. Wylie smiled at her, kissing her forehead. Linh leaned her head against his shoulder and looked up at Wylie.

"What do you think the Council is going to do about the girls?" She asked.

"I don't know. I just hope they don't send them to live with their grandparents." Wylie muttered.

Linh nodded. "You don't think they will, do you?"

"I hope not. But sometimes the Council makes the wrong decisions."

A few days passed and as the Endals got to know the girls more, they got more attached. As the days turned into weeks and the weeks dragged into months, the Council finally reached out. They had not managed to convince any relatives to adopt the girls.

So the Endals offered to adopt them. Catalin and Mera were officially part of the Endal family.
