(flashback)

y/n took shelter behind her mother's silhoutte as she conversed with the lady at the door. The new family had just moved in beside y/n's house. They had two kids that were around her  age. It was a year gap, to be specific.

"y/n! go say hello to them!" her mom pointed at the two boys standing there, waving at her with excitement.

y/n looked down because she was scared of them. As a 1st grader she had never talked with 2nd graders. y/n was hesitant. "Wanna come to the park with us?" one of them asked.

she nodded in response. "Aw look at them bonding already!" the strange lady looked at yn's mom.

"Yeah but kids please. remember. curfew! come back home before 5!" yn's mom reminded them.

y/n followed the two twins all the way down to the playground. "What is your name? one of them asked. she didn't reply because she wanted to go back home already and regretted going there. It was a cold day and the boys were talking too damn much.

He said after a short pause, "I am Ethan and he is an idiot." he pointed at his brother.

"Hey! you don't even know how to read a clock." he snapped back, making y/n chuckle.

After y/n witnessed the two boys fight over nothing they all sat down in a circle.

"Do you like sandcastles?" elijah asked y/n but before she could reply he threw the sand clutched deeply in his fists onto her face.

she immeadietely broke into tears and he jumped around to celebrate.

"Don't do that!" Ethan kicked him and hugged her in order to comfort her.

"You ar-e evil-l!" she spoke through the tears.

(present day)

"You are fucking evil!!"

his laugh echoed in the class room as y/n pointed at her scribbled notebook and gave him disappointed eyes.

"That's what you get for being a bitch!"

"I barely made a dent on your notebook and ruined my whole thing!" she yelled., then Ethan emerged from the back seat,

"It's fine y/n, you can have my book!"

"Thanks." she said while staring down Elijah. He stopped laughing.

"Today it's your book that she is taking, tomorrow it'll be your virgnity. Don't steal my fucking brother." he playfully tackled y/n.

After a minute of fighting back y/n turn him over and get on top of him. "Fuck you!"

"Oh I know you want to!" He teased her and they continued to fight.

Suddenly, her necklace got caught on his shirt. she was now stuck on top of Elijah, 3 inches away from his face. They were practically breathing on each other.

He reached to untangle the necklace as y/n looked into his striking hazel eyes. "At this rate you are gonna take his virginity before mine. You traitor." Ethan made a snarky remark.

"You are just jealous." y/n snapped back and  Ethan rolled his eyes at his friends like a disappointed subarban mom and walked away to the lunch room.

y/n had forgotten that she was still staring at Elijah. He was even done releasing his shirt from the wrath of her butterfly necklace.

"You perv." he said sarcasticly while pushing her off.

y/n just laughed it off but deep down she knew that was gonna be a moment to remember. she joined both the boys on the lunch table.

"It's Taco Tuesday!" Ethan exclaimed.

"They have that in jail too. I don't see people getting excited about that." y/n said, making the table chuckle.

Before they got to eat their prison food, a brunette man interrupted, "Dude she's about to ditch and go the mall with her friend ir someone" 

"What? Now?" Ethan stood up.

"Simp alert." Elijah stated sarcastically.

"Shut the fuck up." ethan replied to his brother.

"Dylan tell me? The city mall, right?" he continued.

Dylan nodded in response. "Let's go."

Ethan dragged y/n out of the school with him. Elijah had no other option than following his brother and y/n.

Ethan had a crush on this girl called Amie. Everyone knew at that point, he was terrible at hiding his feelings and "playing it cool" 

Ethan had tried to talk to her multiple times but failed miserably. She even gave him positive signals but that boy always managed to do the right things at wrong times.  

They all broke apart at the mall to go look for Amie.

Y/n actually ended up running into Elijah the first minute and their conversation went something like this:

"Do you see her?"

"No. I am not even looking." He replied.

y/n rolled her eyes and looked over to her left. There she was. Amie. It could have been a happy discovery but it's wasn't.

"Elijah! Look!"

"Oh shit. We can't tell Ethan." He saw Amie and what she was upto.

She was standing there, glued to a blonde guy who looked to be about 6'1.

"Can't tell Ethan what?" Ethan walked in at the wrong time.

His face dropped as he saw what he wasn't meant to.
