"Ho! Oh, ho! Look friends someone's in need of our help!" A voice bellowed out in a cheerful manner. Turning around, you discovered the voice belonged to a very lanky and very yellow animatronic, that jumped and flipped as he walked, and with him was a hoard of children. "New friend, you seem to be distressed. How can we help?"
"Oh, um." You glanced at the animatronic towering over you, not leaving much personal space, and at the children pooling around you both. "I'm looking for Monty Gator Golf. It's my first day."
"Oh, goodie. I'm glad to have met you on your first day, friend. Monty Gator Golf is located on the second floor of the atrium. I would gladly show you personally, but I gotta look after my friends." The animatronic said, overly cheerful.
"Well, thank you." You said with a smile and wave.
"Wait, what was your name?" The yellow robot said, reaching a long hand towards you.
"I'm (Y/n). I work prize counters and stuff." You giggled a little.
"Nice to meet you, (Y/n). I'm Sun." He replied. If he could blush, a small pink tint would be creeping onto his cheeks. He waved to you as you left and you made your way towards the golf course.
The opening elevator was covered in greenery and fake rainforest sounds like frogs and birds. Inside, it was very dimly lit and covered in even more plants and fake animals. It was hard not to be distracted by your surroundings, as it was oddly comfortable to be there.
Walking towards the prize booth, you noticed a man with an Afro behind the counter, staring at his phone bored. His eyes were a deep brown and he had one dangly earring on his left ear. Honestly, he was kinda cute.
"Hey, I'm (Y/n)" you said, getting his attention from the other side of the table. "Mr. Richardson said you'd train me today."
"Typical of him to give me a job without asking me." The man sighed, putting his phone into his back pocket. "Ok, listen. Before I came here, I smoked weed, so I'm really just out of it. Watch what I do and repeat it. Craig can't be picky with his workers right now."
"Ok, cool." You said. The rest of your shift, you watched Luis work and copied his movements. It was easy to learn from him, but a good bit of the day was spent in silence because you had nothing to talk about.
When your hours of selling cheap trinkets and toys finally ceased, you picked up your old shirt from it's hiding place and crawled out of the mini golf course. Before you could leave your place of work, however, a golf ball came soaring by your face. Then, heavy, mechanical footsteps came closer to you.
"Sorry 'bout that." An animatronic alligator stated running past you. "I got a show to catch. Hope you understand." He jumped in the elevator, pressing the button to go to his desired floor and be away from you. Before the gates closed, you through your hand between them to stop them and slid inside the metal compartment.
"Sorry 'bout that." You said sarcastically. "I'm trying to go home and not have a black eye."
"Oh, c'mon. It wouldn't have hurt you that bad." The alligator rolled his eyes. "It was just a plastic golf ball."
"I understand you're metal, but that would've 100% gave me a bruise. It cracked the wall!" You said, crossing your arms.
"Listen, I understand you're upset or whatever, but genuinely, I didn't do anything that bad." The alligator stated, beginning to walk out as the doors opened. "Now I've got to go entertain that crowd. See ya later."
You rolled your eyes and began making your way to the exit. God, why did they have to create such an arrogant robot for kids to look up to? How does being inconsiderate and rude help develop children's behaviors? Before you could continue your rant in your brain, a cold hand grabbed your arm.
