once upon a heartbreak ; jungwon

"don't you think we really need to talk?" heiryung spoke folding her arms infront of her chest as she stood infront of jungwon's desk, looking him dead in the eye. 

and it seemed to work. he froze right there, gulping hard. 

"what?" he asked back, sounding cool but hesitant at the same time. 

"did you change your mind? you're suddenly talking to me. what, do you not like your pretty girl anymore? isn't that you only talk to the girl you have a crush on?" heiryung said cockily. 

did i cross the line?

even she didn't know what came into her all of a sudden. she never spoke like that. 

maybe it was all her frustration finally bubbling up to the surface, coming out in an unexpected way.

"are you trying to create a scene infront of everyone?" he said through his teeth. he himself was so confused at her behaviour- she wasn't like that.

"jungwon for once just listen to me! i'm so done with your shit okay," she strained, aggressively pointing at him, him slightly leaning back in his seat. other students slowly started to get quiet as to listen to the commotion going on. 

"am i not your best friend wonnie? you suddenly don't want me even in your sight because you started liking some girl? is this what we are? and now you're gonna talk to me pretending like nothing happened at all." she was almost yelling at this point, a lot of students gathering around them. 

jungwon was panicking because of the situation and also her abrupt outburst. he always saw it coming but never in this way. he imagined talking to her on a calm evening and her crying at most. but being yelled at infront of the whole class- never. 

yet he spoke not losing his calm, "because i don't want anyone to think i'm a piece of shit." 

he leaned towards her, so only she could hear his words and whispered, "you like me, don't you? but i don't. never will. my pretty girl is none of your business. i was just trying to be nice to you since sunoo pleaded me to, but you don't seem worth it."

"you and your sunoo can have a good life."
