THE ONE THING you could hear as of now, were cars. Loud echoes of horns and the annoying chatter on the busy and crowded streets. Squeezing past people you tried your best not to fall.

The wind whipped through your hair sometimes hitting your face as you and Miles raced down to his Uncle Aarons's apartment. Miles decided it would be best if you raced there. And before you could tell him it was a bad idea he was already sprinting off.

You were slightly ahead of him, but that was only because he had his shoes untied causing him to tripped over his feet a few blocks back.

Miles was a reckless person. He often didn't pay attention to where he was going or what he was doing. He was the type of guy that didn't think before he acted, and it showed.

He soon caught up to you. Leading the rest of the way there. Miles knew this city like the back of his hand never once skipping a beat. Rushing past moving cars and traffic it was hard to keep up with him without getting flattened out like a pancake.

"NIGGA WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!"

You both finally make it to Aaron's apartment. Climbing the fire escape you slip and almost lose your balance you reach for the side rails but miss them by an inch. Expecting to fall you shut your eyes bracing for impact. When you don't feel the fiery pits of hell burning your skin you open your eyes, only to see Miles's worried face above you.

"You good?" You give him a short 'mmh' dazed and slightly confused, how'd he get over to you so fast? He was just on the sidewalk. He gently drops you. Staying by you in case you fall again, he was truly worried.

You brush yourself off, fixing your clothes, and patting them down. But you can feel his eyes on you. He won't stop staring at you, as if you're about to drop dead at any moment. His eyes are all wide and protective, arms tense at his sides ready to capture you in them.

You glance over at him, pausing, "Miles?" He shakes his head as you broke him from a trance. His eyes refocus, "Yeah?" He stares at you as if you're the most important person in the world. And to him, you are.

Giving him a soft smile, flattered, you tell him, "I'm okay." And you turn back to the latter and climb.

You go at a slower pace, Miles hot on your trail ready to grab you at any moment. It's a good thing you changed out of your uniform before coming here.

Finally making it to his uncle's floor you huff out a breath of air, relief swarming your body and giving you a nice warmth. Shaking your hands out you get the blood flow back in them. You're about to knock on the window. But Miles stops you. He puts his arm out in front of you and it touches your chest, holding you back.

Your eyes find him with a questioning glance and he puts a finger up to his lips while holding up his phone, camera open and ready.

Miles smirks darkly and you roll your eyes faking annoyance. He always did this, it gets old. He captured the picture and sent it to him you could see a loving smile grace his uncle's face and he looked up right as Miles got on his feet.
