"Roxy, we know you're upset about everything that happened," I began, though I knew my words wouldn't make this any easier. Bloom, Flora, and I sat in Roxy's room, watching her, knowing the storm of emotions swirling inside her.
"You say upset?" Roxy replied with a bitter chuckle. "I think 'shocked' is more fitting."
I rubbed my temples. "Maybe talking about it will help. You've been carrying this alone for a while."
"I could hear it all in my head," Roxy murmured, her voice shaky as she recalled the memories. "Fear... pain... loneliness. Nebula took over, and I couldn't fight it." She looked down, hands trembling.
I sat beside her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. She leaned into me, her head resting gently against my shoulder. I let out a quiet sigh. "It's not easy being a Fairy," I said, my voice steady despite the situation. "But you're strong, and you have a special gift, even if it doesn't feel like it right now."
"Gift?" Roxy's voice was flat, distant. "I don't want to be special. I just want to be Roxy. Just Roxy. I live on Earth. My life is here with my father and Artu." She reached down, absently patting the dog lying at her feet.
I smiled faintly at the sight of Artu. "You can still be Roxy," I reassured her. "You can be Roxy, and you can be a Fairy. They're not mutually exclusive. You'll learn how to use your powers, one step at a time."
"And you'll still have time for Artu and your dad," Flora added gently, her voice calm as she knelt beside us.
Roxy gave a small shake of her head, her face lined with uncertainty. "I don't know if I can handle all of this. It's just... so much."
Bloom's voice was soft but unwavering. "I understand how you feel, Roxy. But take your time. There's no rush. Just remember that we're all here for you."
I nodded, standing up. "We'll always have your back. When you're ready, we'll be here." The three of us slowly made our way to the door. "Take care of yourself, okay? We'll see you soon."
Once we were outside, I couldn't shake the feeling that Roxy was still struggling to find her place in all of this. She wasn't alone, but the burden she carried felt so much heavier than it appeared on the surface.
The others were busy at the Love and Pet shop when we returned, and I could tell they were already immersed in the day's tasks.
"Work, work, work," Stella muttered, her hands on her hips. "When do we get a break?"
"Good morning, girls!" I greeted with a smile, though I couldn't hide the weariness in my voice.
"Hey!" Stella's eyes flicked to our expressions, concern quickly washing over her. "What happened? You all look like you just walked through a storm."
