Peter's POV:
~ Small time skip from the last chapter (please watch the show to fill in the things I have left out)~
After such a delightful introduction to Henry and his ever-so-feisty guardian, it felt only right to pay a visit to the other trespassers stomping about my island as though they owned the place. I perched lazily on a sun-warmed rock near Emma's camp, half-lidded eyes watching the shadows move.
It didn't take long for her to wander off on her own. That's when I stepped into her silence like a blade sliding between ribs.
"You hear that too?" I asked, just as she froze. Her gasp was immediate, and she spun around, sword drawn, eyes blazing.
"You're Emma, right?" I said, smirking. I do love watching their little bubbles of composure burst.
She didn't answer, just narrowed her eyes. Fierce. Reckless. Burning like the other one—Y/N, was it?
"I wonder why they can't hear the crying," I mused, gesturing toward Snow and Charming, their heads turned toward some phantom sound only I could conjure.
"Who are you?" she demanded.
Ah, the usual first question. So unoriginal.
"Oh, how rude of me," I said, feigning innocence. "I'm Peter. Peter Pan."
The moment my name left my lips, she lunged.
Her sword pinned me to the nearest tree with a satisfying thunk. Steel at my throat, fire in her eyes. Impressive. I liked her already.
"You've got fire," I said, voice low, the blade cool against my skin. "I like fire."
"WHERE IS MY SON?" she shouted, eyes wide with desperation and fury.
I tilted my head slightly. "Still alive, if that's what's got you all worked up. As for the girl—Henry's little protector—I find he's much more persuadable with her around."
"Why the hell did you take him?" she spat.
"Because he's special, Emma."
"I know that. What do you want with him?"
I shrugged. "I came to see what kind of heroes were stupid enough to chase me into my own domain. The Savior herself." I grinned. "Color me impressed."
"You gonna say it now?" she snapped. "That I'll never see him again?"
"No." I pushed off the tree with a casual breath as she slowly lowered her sword. "I'm going to help you."
Her brows furrowed in suspicion.
"I'll give you a map," I said. I pulled it from the folds of my coat, aged parchment sealed by more than ink. "One that leads you straight to Henry."
"If this is some kind of trap—"
I chuckled. "I'm many things, love. But I never break a promise." Funny—Y/N said something similar. A promise to protect Henry. Sweet. Naïve. Doomed.
I offered the map.
"It's not just about finding Henry. It's about how you find him. And Emma... you're the only one who can."
She took it, slowly, her knuckles tight around the edge.
"It's blank," she said flatly.
"Because it only reveals itself to those who stop pretending. Stop denying who you truly are."
And with that, I vanished.
~ Much later ;) ~
They thought I didn't know.
